Uh yeah it's not exactly 100% the same but you don't get cancer though so like
The real huge increases in mortality come when you become a pack-a-day smoker where as if you tried to smoke the same amount with weed, you'd have other issues.
so it's impossible to "casually" smoke. I know far more people who drink alcohol uncontrollably than smokers. I know about the stories where people smoke packs and packs a day but I know far more individuals who have had to go to hospital purely through the fault of them drinking too much. There is a complete hatred over someone smoking and this general awkward acceptance of drunken behaviour. It's just sad and hypocritical.
I smoke myself. I am trying to be as objective as possible. Smoking kills 400,000 a year and drinking only kills 80,000. The statistics don't lie,. my friend.
this is because the statistics aren't factoring in repercussions of alcohol. there is only literally only 1 way smoking kills people; lung disease. alcohol related falls, crashes, accidents, assaults, injuries, abuses on top of clinical related issues and mental health issues adds up to far more than 80'000. alcohol culture all over the world causes far more problems to communities and hospitals than smoking culture. people have become blind-sighted over the horrors that alcohol can bring to people's lives purely because the culture has been fully tuned into it as a celebratory means of life. for me personally, this is depressing to see because you are far more likely to get into alcohol abuse than smoking abuse. (not that it's such a thing anyway) And one of the reasons of this is because of this social acceptance of alcohol abuse into normal life.
Smoking can actually kill you with heart disease too, and that's actually very common. It's not just lung disease, dude. Yes, alcohol in an acute sense can cause more visible damage to society and communities, but most people would rather be alive with some injuries than dead. That's not always the case, but I imagine if you asked the world whether they'd like to have a broken arm or die 20 years younger than they would have otherwise, they'd take the latter option. I'm of the opinion that weed should be legalised and that harder drugs should be decriminalised (meaning sales are still illegal but possession of personal use amounts is kosher.)
Both are bad for you, and arguing against either of them is useless.
I don't think either of them should be made illegal. I was simply backing up my earlier agreement with somebody who said alcohol is, in a word, a more antisocial activity, and he was right. Swings and roundabouts.
Stroke too, but there are multiple factors that attribute to those as compared to the direct cause of smoking. and now we can talk about true statistics which you shouldn't want to ignore: WHO | Alcohol Tobacco 3.3 million deaths as a consequence of alcohol consumption vs.  6 million of smoking related deaths yes I know it makes me lose the argument but if you factor out China which smokes (one in every 3 cigarettes), p sure that number quickly changes around. For me though, I am not just looking into deaths but the effect of alcohol on human life and health. And for the living, I just don't see the act of smoking doing as much harm to the daily lives of people than alcohol does.
You shouldn't look at it like that. It should just be a cordial, friendly debate between two people. 'Winning' isn't important. But if we're to factor out China's smoking, surely we have to factor out their drinking too? Read this: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/11491900/Chinese-people-now-drink-more-than-British-boozers.html
winning is important. but yes china is sadly getting worse and worse with how they abuse this stuff. I am really not that sure about the roots of China's smoking and drinking culture but I know it's horrendous and out of control. the reason I am adamant about this discussion is that this general acceptance of alcohol abuse being shrugged off really bothers me when people in general are so strong on their views on smoking.
At what point did I shrug it off? I was simply stating that tobacco kills more people and is more dangerous generally. My mum was a massive alcoholic when I was growing up, so trust me, I know how horrible it is to live in that environment, but I still think smoking is worse.
not saying you personally, when i argue i don't mean anything personal. but please express why you still think smoking is worse as you have this experience.
Depends on what you got. I got a sub-ohm setup that is much more intense than a cigarette. Initial cost is expensive but you'll probably save money on juice and coils in the long run.

I had a £100 mod, so it wasn't some cheap shite.
Smok mods run up to 100£ easily and they are cheap shite
I quite like my Smok X-Priv
Tobacco should IMO it impacts you and everyone that is around you, unlike alcohol
so what? it's not illegal, it's not really even morally ambiguous seeing as it's just adult oriented pages that seem to be doing it
Tobacco advertising is illegal and abhorrent.
I don't think you understand the problem with that in that we'd get a black market. Ban smoking on the streets, sure, but banning cigarettes outright means less tax money for the government and a criminal network rising up, unfortunately.
