Yes, i know about it. China learned on mistakes of Soviet Union and willing to play long game. Why take land by force when current owner is desperate for money and willing to sell it? Yes, it's still belongs to Russia, but only Chinese corporations profit from it, and by extension, China itself. Sometimes I wonder how fucking big and scary China will grow if they get all the resources Russian Far East hold
Hey rascalov what's your opinion on the illegal annexation of Crimea?
it is quite beneficial for china, but it is very damaging for russia long-term, as It is simply a sellout of the last natural rich, barely profitable one. the land technically belongs but it will be pillaged, and could be also taken officially by any means once/if russia will be at it's worst, many years ahead. currently russia's only strong point is intimidation with information disruption, it is not preferable to do a war as it barely has any resources or allies (simple observations of course), this is a defense. russia is completely dependent on China's resources (import, commodity especially), meanwhile China is in the process of acquiring major power.. it is unfortunate that government doesn't care about this country in a literal sense, as well is neither the population, still living in the shadow of post-soviet dying culture. that's the real threat: decline by itself.
Well, by itself, getting Crimea back is a good thing. It's quite big tourism place (it was, atleast, before all that annexation stuff), It have massive strategic importance, as it hold one of biggest Russian naval bases (built by Russian Empire, after fall of Sovet Union it was leased to Russia by Ukraine in exchange for gas discount IIRC) and it's location gives complete control over Black Sea with modern military tech, which is very important from defensive standpoint, and honestly, who will complain about getting more land? On the other hand, however, way it's been done is horrible. After all it was a unjustified military operation on foreign soil, and while there was a threat of Anti-Russia nationalists going there and trashing the place completely unrestrained by new gov just because "fuck everything Russian", i doubt it was as big as we've been told. Its hurted our diplomatic relations, hurted our economy, and I am not talking about sanctions, as amount of money invested in Crimea after annexation is massive. It could be done in a lot of more "acceptable" ways. Referendum could've been organized through UN, as its results actually not that unbelievable, as from what i've know, Ukraine, as it's said in russian, "положила хуй" (literally "laid it's dick" and roughly means "didn't gave a single fuck about") on Crimea, because it's have russian majority and who cares about those guys, right, so, people obviosly keen to go back to Russia, who, when it still was Soviet Union, actually cared about it. Though, NATO would've never accepted that, because right for self-identification only works when it's not benefit enemies of the West, and that means veto from US, UK and France. Crimea even could've been bought in exchange for forgetting Ukraine gas debts, as even with discount those were quite big, and if i remember right, some people actually suggested that, even before annexation, but that idea never got any attention. So, if put it short: Russian Crimea is good, but not by means used. Overall, Ukraine got to play it's desired role of victim of "The Evil Empire", Russian government benefited from nationalistic and patriotic effect of returning back former territories, and no one cares about common people, as always.
Incredible, someone who argues his point by conveniently missing facts and creating his own arguments that have no relevance to what I have even said. Why the fuck would anyone bother trying to argue facts with a Russian troll when all you would ever do is conveniently ignore anything bad and create a different point of argument on something with no relevance to hoe Russia os posturing and intimidating at the present time. No mention of the civilian plane downed, annexing sovereign land or anything. Go troll on facebook or something, maybe then someone will believe your tripe.
He was asked for his opinion and it's rather well thought out actually. He's not trolling from what I can tell and with how important the black sea is to Russia I'm inclined to believe him on this. Good idea bad execution sums up this whole mess well.
10 RUB HAS BEEN DEPOSITED INTO YOUR ACCOUNT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATRIOTISM, COMRADE.
I just will ignore you from now. It's not seems like we can have civilized, constructive discussion with you anyway. It's completely fine to disagree with my opinion, and i don't really expect anyone here to agree with it, after all, my country is a "Enemy of The Free World", whatever that means, and who is willing to listen to the enemy, right? Can i get some too? For 15 i also can stop criticizing Kremlin. But only publicly, it will cost 30 for private conversations.
Can we stop with this shit already? It's way past funny and it hasn't been contributing to civil discussions up to this point, it still doesn't. You may dislike Russian FPers posting (frankly vapid) stuff or just shitposting, but making these 'sarcastic' accusations doesn't make anyone more inclined not to shitpost. On-topic: these exercises IMO have no direct military value and are, instead, political. a) they will be televised and will serve to distract the population from being angry about highly unpopular social reforms; b) more posturing. There's no reason to think the exercises will serve any other end - Ukrainian conflict has been slowly burning out for a while now, and judging by recent events, is not going to be reignited any time soon. Any other invasion frankly just sounds ridiculous. In 2014 Russian economy was fresh out of crisis and on the rise, now? Yeah no, Russia has already proved to be unable to sustain just one oversees operation. Unpredictability of Trump's administration and recent events over poisoning in UK don't really add much confidence. So yeah. "Biggest military exercises since Soviet Union" are most likely just that, Russia stronk and other, less intelligible barks.
As much as I wish they wouldn't do this, I'm hoping we'll see footage of it. Would love to see how it looks.
Im also pointing out the fact that this was a very offtopic question, yet he gets shilled as russian troll for posting his opinion, through a post which is blatanrly huge ad hominem. Makes you wonder who is the troll here.
I mean. I wasn't expecting this to be the thread that confirmed all my Dota 2 russian stereotypes... but here we are "empire stronk", "Nato Evil" and all that. I swear if this is some bid at invading and occupying half of Scandinavia... Imagine if both America and Russia just fucked off at the same time...
It is oddly considerate for the country that dropped a hydrogen bomb right next to an inhabited down https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHRLEMTsLyA The Russians just don't give a fuck
Unless you are trolling, you are dense as fuck. Nothing to see here.
Uh... Yeah, actually, might as well. If my country goes all out like you're suggesting, getting banned will be the least of my problems, that's for sure. Until I find a safe harbor somewhere in South America at least.
Implying Nato is much more than for show LMAO.
Who will win WW3? A bunch of Europeans who let migrants have their way with their daughters or a bunch of elite vodka squatters?
why do retards still think that Russia is going to invade scandinavia
Because the vision of "Russia the Invader" was planted since the Cold War days, and was only confirmed in 2014.
Because Vladimir is constantly posturing at the borders of Sweden and Norway. Because he ate crimea and the world just took it in the ass. It's easy for you to sit down under and only ever worry about them "damn abo's getting funny ideas about their station in society" or getting into drunk fisticuffs with a clock-spider and a kangaroo. Meanwhile for those of us living this close to the great Russian empire, there's a constant shadow that Putin somehow could be as big of an imperialist as everyone fears he is.
Ah yes, Ukraine, the country everyone knows is a leading member of NATO, great Russia had the balls to take territory from a NATO member oh right
The whole idea that Scandinavia is currently at risk of invasion is just surreal. The North American continent is currently closer to your border with Russia than the majority of the Russian army is. Think about that. Russia and China are in the middle of a huge military exercise with 300,000 soldiers and 36,000 armoured vehicles in the east, and you believe they're about to invade?
Glad to see Putin's own personal code monkeys are available 24/7 to defend their Tsar General Secretary of the Communist Party glorious leader.
failing to see how an exercise in the east of the country is an excuse to store equipment on the western borders of the country = putin cocksucking alright man
At this point this is just pure troll bait on a lot of posters' part.
