Very cool breakdown, I can't wait until electric cars are cheaper, I'll like to be able to afford one someday.
You're right, agriculture is a smaller portion of GHG emissions and GHG is a big problem to tackle by itself.
The thing is, lots of people don't really want to consider that solution, as you can see on this forum. They'd rather believe that it's just a matter of dumping money into renewable research and scientists will figure out the rest. Those same scientists that openly call for a deep restructuration of our society and a rethinking of our consumption practices, as we can see in the article. They don't really want to know the solution, they want to be told what they want to hear. Those people will denounce climate change deniers and corporations' greed as being a threat to the future of our species, but they lack the introspection to realize that their delusions are harmful as well.
It's like an increasingly sick man gorging on junk food and chain smoking, hoping that before he gets serious complications scientists will have figured out ways to easily reverse them. That's irresponsible, the solution is to adopt healthy habits in the first place.
