I think that describes the problem perfectly. Instead of critical thinking or seeking context, people are too quick to jump to conclusions and act offended and outraged when it's not warranted.

I can understand why someone would get that impression, what I can't understand is how they can see one image, jump to that conclusion and fly off the handle about it.
