even though it's going more north now im still gonna get my asshole reamed.
The hurricane is back up to 140mph with s pressure of 945. It's strengthening again after the ERC. https://twitter.com/pppapin/status/1039566169680707585?s=19
Looks like it started heading south a bit. More of Georgia is in the "Cone of Uncertainty". https://weather.com/safety/hurricane/news/2018-09-11-hurricane-florence-forecast-north-carolina-south-carolina-virginia "The latest trends in computer models have brought more potential impacts to the central and southern Appalachians."
Took a walk around town, today. Most people packed their shit and left. Lots of shops are closing until the weekend. It's ominously quiet. It's been raining on and off. I'm guessing it's the first licks of the storm. We're not forecasted to get the aquatic ass-slamming until tomorrow evening. I'll probably end up losing power, but I'm sitting in a B zone so my place should stay dry. I'm gonna go ahead and move my car to the parking deck in a minute so it doesn't turn into a submarine. I took a groovy picture of the sky. Hard to tell from the picture, but the sky actually looked hazy. https://imgur.com/a/WC7Td5i @Octane hope you're safe, man.

I'm hoping this will just be one of those storms that seem bad at first but quickly decreases in severity once it reaches land. In any case I wish everyone in that area good luck and to stay safe.
If you're on the water like JohnnyMo is, you might see a bit of flooding. Otherwise, you're probably fine -- especially since Florence is moving towards the south.
lol why does it put me closer and closer to dead center every update
climate change is just gonna make these more dangerous and more frequent and our shitstain government couldn't give decent care to victims of the last one
It's coming for YOU

On one hand, it looks like Maryland won't be hell on Earth as thought. On the other hand, strong gusts and downpours is not something to look forward to when I need to walk to my public commute for work and school.
Georgia issuing a state of emergency ahead of the storm now that the tracks are trending south https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/storm_graphics/AT06/refresh/AL062018_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind+png/152637_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind.png Florence has been downgraded to a Category 3 with winds of 125 mph and pressure of 948 mb. https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/storminfo/06L_intensity_latest.png https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/storminfo/06L_tracks_latest.png Officials in some coastal communities are going door to door to people who decided to stay asking for next of kin information. https://twitter.com/Astro_Alex/status/1039925718682152962?s=19 https://twitter.com/Astro_Alex/status/1039870760343543814?s=19

Reminds me of the Rockport mayor. People criticized him for his statement: "We’re suggesting if people are going to stay here, mark their arm with a Sharpie pen with their name and Social Security number," Rockport Mayor Pro Tem Patrick Rios said at a news conference this morning. "We hate to talk about things like that," he said. "It's not something we like to do but it’s the reality, people don’t listen." It wasn't bad advice. Harvey made a direct hit on Rockport. https://youtu.be/_eE2oyarSN8
came here to post those two tweets have this instead https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/109833/445dd5f5-970c-4d70-a804-8ad189953efe/image.png
Good thing we banned climate change then
How moronic. Why didn't we just ban dying?
Can't change the amount of ice if all of the ice is melted.
Oh good, it's coming down to Georgia now. I knew something would mess up Friday night for the sixth week in a row.
there's something like 40 million people in the predicted flood zone, this has all the powder to turn into a massive catastrophy

america will start a war with Africa over this
Is this normal? Pretty much whatever the hell remains of Florence turns into that https://puu.sh/BtZxW.gif
North Carolina didn't like science on sea levels … so passed a l.. What a great state. I hope the legislators who passed it have their houses in the danger area.
It's actually worse than that. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dm6hE1QXgAAm9ax.jpg The storm in the red circle has already been named Joyce, with the one in the pink having the potential of becoming named before it hits Texas.
Afaik that's cause as it goes further north it will transition into an extratropical cyclone. Which has different characteristics than a tropical cyclone.
God would like to thank the wicked, this wouldn't be possible without their help, and climate change deniers who weren't wicked as well.
also the GFS model shows another one creeping up and getting stronger in the Caribbean. https://puu.sh/BtZtb.gif
