The comics industry is finally, belatedly facing up to Comicsgate

For your sake i hope you're a troll because otherwise you'd just be an insufferably obnoxious person.
You barely know me.

We know enough
"C-cu-CULTISTS, YO-YOU ARE ALL CULTISTS, WAAAAAAAAAAH"
grow up my dude
you act like a kool aid drinking cultist, mister "S-SHE WAS THE VIIIIICTIM W_WAAAAH"
Aaaaa stop ignoring what people around you are telling you.
If you're not trying to troll people, then please take a look at how insufferably frustrating you are.
I mean. how do you play this angle after just calling me a Danish paranoid with no job, life or drive in life? The hypocrisy is dumbfounding.
i think the whole problem with all these x gates stems from people arguing on the internet when ultimately it's only really a fruitless excercise that just serves to get you frustrated
Is this you silently defending your age?
Why would any actual college student be on a laptop, on faceunch, in a college level calculus course? Low quality lie.
I have to say that i disagree. These X gates are usually some form of fandom reaction or consumer reaction to perceived negative behavior. Yes, arguing on the internet means people can just drive-by shitpost and derail the issue. Yes, it's frustrating. But if people just stopped arguing on the internet, the reaction wouldn't be visible at all. we can try and imagine how Goobergabe would have ended differently. The cynic in me tells me that the manipulators would be in bigger positions of influence, probably be considered authorities on social equality, despite the narrow-minded and flawed philosophies driving their positions. The most hopeful outcome would be that they're still in these obscure positions, seen as losers at life, but because the silence they met when fishing for outrage meant there was no income to be had, therefore no reason to falsely drive that angle.
So yeah. Discussiong, disagreeing or getting frustrated on the internet is kind of important to how we got through this without it ending up in a total short-sighted hipster-reform with thought-crime, face-crime and double-speak.
You quite literally said the opposite of this several times. Pick a personality. Any personality.
Back to the topic at hand
A court of law and police and peer testimony backed with chat logs and paper trail directly show you are lying through your teeth, of which you're well aware, kind of like the pedophile thing, small wonder people fail to take pretty much anything you post with any kind of credibility.
As for "comicsgate" D+C has been posting videos for four years. A little late to be "alarmed" and saddened, regardless of what his opinion is.
There's a rather simple paradigm occurring, and that imploding sales. Sales are imploding because people are quite simply tired of being told what to think and how to think it. The reason marvel was able to lastr as long as they did was they showed, they didn't tell. That was unitl about halfway Chris Claremont's career he realized that he wasn't a feminist, he was a female apologist, and changed his writing style to match, complete with giant graph paper textboxes where you literally couldn't get art in the frame. Check his AvP comic. It's literally so verbose with preaching that that pictures take about a third of the page. Other writers took to this style and Marvel became not the comic of progressive hopeful preaching and object lesson in how not to be a dick but the house of the foil covered moralist where they actively attempted to steer readers expectations and interpretations, down to omitting the reader's write in the back for a 80s cartoon style expostion on why you needed to have the right politics and drink the kool-aid for the greater good.
About the same time as things tend to do, most of the writers hired to write this kind of stuff aren't particularly creative or good at thinking out of the box, so marvel begin to cultivate these types and actively fire and chase off the creator unconcerned with politics or moral highgroundism, and strangely enough, their sales began to take a hard nose dive, and they haven't ever recovered. The only reason they're still around is literally injections from Disney. Marvel hasn't been black-profitable in ten years, and in that same time they've had three eic/prez's that literally have been trying to piss off their core readers on purpose. And it's worked spectacularly.
Meanwhile DC finally got their shit together and realized you can write comics for everybody, and let them pick what they want to read of and about. While they've still stumbled and fallen flat on their face, they've also started making money again. Hmm. Mystery.

Context for those images? I'm confused how they relate to what you're saying.
Lol, I’m not a fan of asparkle, but this post is sorta ridiculous. Many of my posts have been made during a lecture, that hasn’t prevented me from doing quite well in university. Maybe they already understood that part of the lecture? Maybe they don’t give a shit, and they’ll read up on it later? Or maybe they have a bad habit?
It really wasnt that even on reddit and the main 8ch board. I was on kotakuinaction and 8ch during those events and it was some of the most civil and ideologically diverse shit i've ever seen on reddit and a chan respectively. People were pretty chill, realized that actual harrassment wasnt going to get anywhere but also organized email campaigns to get advertisers to pull out of websites and distributed factual primary sources when the gaming media refused to. I don't use reddit much anymore and Kotakuinaction has degraded since then as the ethics focused people have gotten bored but i'm still impressed at how people handle disagreement there and still demand a higher standard of evidence than the rest of reddit, everything still gets archived, proof is still demanded if you start trying to push some shit. until 4pol moved to 8ch it was a lot of surprisingly non-shitposty civil gamergate discussion for an anonymous imageboard there too.
Im not replying to this for your benefit asteroid because i'm certain i've made a similar reply to you before years ago and i doubt you want to risk "cult indoctrination" by reading my post but for anyone else who is reading reading here is a somewhat comprehensive list of the things addressed by gamergate and the reforms that resulted from gamergate. Other things not specifically covered by the linked resources include the sites you'd probably consider "credible" including polygon, kotaku and etc had to and did implement sweeping reforms on their policies, the mass advertiser dropouts lead to serious. The FTC reformed their policies which lead to sweeping ad-disclosure enforcement accross youtube and websites that previously barely existed at all, and they directly stated it was because of gamergate's email campaign. Several ethically focused gaming journalism sites emerged out of the situation and still exist.
Corruption
Censorship
Collusion
The thing to remember is that Gamergate wasn't an organization, it doesn't have a PR wing or a centralized reputation to "protect", it was an amorphous movement that was blanket smeared, and it was up against tangible people who were provably corrupt who had legitimate criticisms levied against thewm. Because an amorphus blob can't really defend itself due to no central hub of responsability, it was easy to smear while the actual people who can have legitimate claims levied against them defended themselves by attacking the blob in an attempt to associate all the ethical violations with sexism and misogony. It's an obvious tactic but what's more obvious is that, ultimately those ethical violations don't just go away because some people in a blob somewhere else do something wrong.
Maybe our experience with calc/math lectures in general has been different, but at my uni if you pull out a non tablet laptop during a math lecture and do anything other then livetek, you'd likely be politely asked to close it or leave for being a distraction.
Even if that isn't the case, I think we can agree that shitposting during a calc lecture is a terrible decision that at least warrants pointing out.
Fuck I assumed the top one was an edit due to the Impact font. I don't have a clue what's going on in the next two, but whatever the Eggman one is supposed to mean it is 100% an edit.
The bottom one is Captain America revealing that he is Hydra, photoshopped to be Sonic/Eggman.
I'm not doing calc/math, but I'd say that's really a culture thing that probably varies a lot from university to university. Where I'm from, no one would bat an eye (as long as you're not being loud/obnoxious). And how would your lecturer even know if you're taking notes or shitposting?
It's hilarious that someone was being abused in a relationship and all it took was for the woman to say "nuh uh gaymers" and you believed it. You literally can't provide any evidence because it's just your baseless beliefs.
The first one is unedited. I forget what issue it was though.
The second is an edit, based on an event from Angela: Queen of Hel #4. In it, a character is self-censored by the writer of the book with black-barred text supposedly as a joke.
I am not sure what the third one is. I have not seen it before.
The forth is an edit of the ending from Captain America: Steve Rogers #1, where Steve is revealed he is actually an agent of Hydra, which caused a lot of ire for his fans and the comic community at large.
The third one is Archangel and Husk literally humping in midair to show "mutant pride".
And one I forgot:

The current Captain Marvel is literal space nazi, but because she's a TERF, it's fine. The current writer actually thinks this.
If I remember correctly, didn't the writer defend this by saying that they didn't know Magneto was literally a holocaust survivor?
One time I played PD2 with an obnoxious nasally voiced 12yo that fucked up the teamwork task they told me they’d do for me, and when called out went full Huey Emmerich.
weeks later I get a profile comment from them accusing me of stalking/harassing them over a match, so I talk shit on FP’s payday thread about how I constantly run into weirdos like this.
asparkle replies to reveal this kid was them and posts an edited college ID to disprove the age in the voice among more threadshitting.
Get new bullshit excuses, you already pulled college. With the time frame i don’t believe it, and you’ve got plenty of time to driveby shitpost and post on gamerghazi.

Oh dear, I had assumed that whole thing was deliberate, like it was meant to be ironic that she was saying that to Magneto because he is just about the most qualified person to make those comparisons (her ignorance about it being deliberate too)... but for it to be a writing fail, that's just pathetic.
christ almighty please provide evidence
This is one of those tidbits you'd almost have to actively avoid knowing about, holy fuck.
