Adult Swim program wins Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program

It wasn't a bad episode, people are just bitter for some reason.
And 98% of them are adult comedies. I can only name one adult-aimed cartoon that isn't explicitly a comedy.
hell yeah lmao pickle rick is epic
netflix is still struggling to get into the awards
Pickle Rick is absolutely a bad episode. It's the turning point for when the show descended into meme-style "le xD random" quips and overt slapstick, while also trying to be way too dark and edgy. Early Rick and Morty was a perfected balance of absurd and serious, but both of those aspects now feel completely flanderized.
Pickle rick is like half shitty memes and the other half exposition dump by a therapist

Love Rick and Mort a lot, even though my brothers have both turned rather meh about the show, but not sure how I feel about Pickle Rick winning. It was a funny, well animated episode; but I feel like it only earned a nomination because of it's ending which was fantastic but made up a super small part of the episode. As a fan of the show it is exciting still to see them get a win and maybe they'll produce another Emmy nominated episode in Season 4.
And if Pickle Rick can win; Bojack deserved it's win a long time ago on multiple occasions.
Season 3 was pretty mixed from watching all episodes (except Rickatlantis (Tales of Citadel) episode which is mildly only good episode overall, With sadly going to put Pickle Rick as only 2/3 best episode of season) and I have think this dumb reoccurring plotline with Jerry and Beth divorce... should keep it as game changer/permanent change of show's dynamic after first episode rather than become set up as planned out Snap Back-like season joke with little build up.
But because people like all us were to overhype needs to slow down for creators relaxing their creative ablities best they could.
to be clear though Dan and Justin have said that episode should not be taken seriously, its obviously just meant to be an action episode
It really doesn't differ in quality to other episodes.
What makes you think it's different in quality is that's when it got popular.
Something being popular means it's not as good as it was.
Therefore people see that episode as super weak and terrible. It's not, it's pretty "Stock standard" for Rick and Morty.
This is such horseshit. I watched the episode live, before there were any fucking terrible t-shirts. The episode sucks shit, it's extremely apparent a stupid gimmick filler episode that is reminiscent of the very worst utter trash comedy animation like Family Guy. So don't fucking prescribe to me all the reasons I didn't like it, especially because it literally made me stop watching the show.
This is a mature, level headed response to something you don’t like.
The episode ode is the same as the rest of the show.
Point by ooibt break down down why it’s different than any other episode. That exercise will show it’s not that different. Yes, it’s a “filler” episode, the show had those before pickle Rick.
If someone likes that episode, what do you think of that? Are they wrong? Objectively?
It wasn't a bad episode at all, but it would be far from my pick for winning an emmy. I enjoyed the gag premise of him literally being "in a pickle", I thought it was cleverly done in that it's a boring premise by itself but they still managed to make it interesting and funny by having Rick get out of the situation in a clever and weird way, and the therapy session was a good insight into the dynamics of Beth and Rick's relationship. In all though, it's an episode I find myself skipping often if I'm watching the show.
I don't get the vitrial with which people express their hatred for the episode, though. It wasn't an amazing episode or anything but a bunch of annoying people keep shouting "PICKLE RIIICK" isn't really reason enough for me to despise it.
