Swiping right constantly lowers your ELO score therefore it will only show you to ugly girls very infequently.
Tinder is a scam. Tinder rates you based on your desirability / attractiveness and there's no way to totally reset your score without getting a new Facebook AND phone number
Or you could do what I do and make yourself visible to dudes which massively bumps the shit out of your ELO due to everyone swiping right in you.
There's a difference between not coding a feature because not many users are gonna use it, and coding a feature and then arbitrarily restricting it to one gender.
gotta handcarve the programming, and once its set, that's how its set, if you wanna change something you gotta pull out another block of raw code and chip away at it until it is how you want it. takes a lot of work, you know?
Well for starters, the paid boost feature requires you to swipe more often for better results - this will lower your score.
Paid for infinite swipes will lower your score.
I pay for infinite swipes and have never had any problem getting matches.
By the way, what's the point of that exactly? Do you get perks if you have more followers? Or is it just some sort of e-peen thing like reddit karma?
Tinder works exactly like competitive Overwatch?
Some people are paid through instagram as bloggers, models, influenzas
A scam? That system sounds almost great even.
Besides from the risk that the system might rank you lower than is far and you'll be stuck there, but it seems to encourage those who invest care into their appearance and interaction.
Much better than anarchy to be sure.
Tinder (and dating apps/sites in general) are a pretty awful experience, I'd never recommend their usage to anyone I didn't hate.
No other way to meet new people if you've exhausted your social circles
Would you rather meet mediocre people instead? Because that's what you get.
Tinder represents the population at large pretty much, good and bad. I met my current girlfriend on there, for example. Some of my friends have a lot of success meeting new people through tinder. Maybe if all you meet on tinder is "mediocre people", the problem isn't tinder (hint: you're the one doing the swiping).
Sorry you view your own rung as mediocre.
to be frank, it also largely depends where you live
I mean if everyone in your area just sucks, that's not really Tinder's fault. Obviously meeting people through your friends is better in a lot of cases (because you're not purely judged on your photo, and the first joke you write), but the idea that Tinder only nets you "mediocre" people is only true if everyone in your area is mediocre anyway.
The swipe right measure is gender specific. Men who swipe right, even with infinite boosts will still have their score lowered. Women do not face the same loweres score. In fact women who mass swipe right get a higher score.
I mean if you're an extremely attractive middle class man then sure, but if not then I'd say it's a waste of time and doing literally anything else will land you a better success rate than tinder.
Literally anything else like what exactly, given that your current social circles are exhausted?
Oh I know, it's why I don't touch Tinder anymore. I don't like being gamed.
Instagram models make money from patreon (early access to images, nudes), sponsorships (posing with a product, mentioning it in the comments/description), and a lot of them have amazon wishlists so people can buy them stuff directly.
Tinder is full of lonely desperate men, the perfect targets for instagram models.
Ye ngl, hearing about Tinder's algorithms ain't giving me much hope for my romantic future at all.
This isn't quite true. There's a bio part to every profile that is fully public. You could list anything you want about yourself the.
The real question is will it be read before they swipe on you?
Do you have a source on that?
Based on my own playing around with the algo, it feels like a much heavier impact on your ELO is, well, how attractive you are considered by other users (i.e. how many folks swipe right on you).
I'm sure that penalties exist for Uber swiping, but the systems y'all are describing would result in even uber attractive dudes never getting shown to anyone if they actively used the app, unless they were new.
It never is.
if you match with people your ELO score goes up, especially if the person you match with has a higher ELO score. So those attractive dudes are already getting matches, which fuels them getting more matches.
Oh, so then the real trick here is "be attractive if you want to match with attractive people". Wow, what a scam.
As a professional Danny Devito impersonator, I find this discriminatory.
