Facebook content moderator suing, claiming the job gave her PTSD

Well.
You seem to be under this strange impression that people can just freely choose to do whatever job they want and if they don't like one job can easily go get another. But you'd be wrong. Some people really have no choice and can only do what's available to them.
That's because soldiers go through very intense training in regards to those things and have mental healthcare options to help deal with them. But even then it's very frequently not enough which is why suicide is far from uncommon amongst soldiers.
Actually if you go back and reread the thread people started out explaining why you were wrong. You ignored them and dug your heels in so they stopped wasting their time trying to debate with you because it's clearly not productive.
We've been explaining that it's the lack of sufficient mental health support that means she should be able to sue. I imagine that a lack of breaks is also something she could sue for. If all the logistics were in place for both alternating roles and mental health support, you'd be right, but you seem to be debating the issue in ignorance/arrogance of the lack of support structures being of significance.
Keep in mind this is the same person who was upset that rapper TentacleXXX or whatever got killed, but was ardent that his ex-girlfriend was a lying bitch that he totally never beat in to the hospital while she was pregnant despite the evidence, and that he was totally justified nearly killing a gay guy.
Holy shit? Do you have more info on what you're talking about?
Yeah, check the thread from here in SH on when the guy got shot. Its in his, and my and others', post history. I can grab direct links to some posts in the thread if you want and can give me a bit, but they're still there.
Just to make it clear I'm talking about the rapper beating his girlfriend, not Jouska.
Oh, oops!
The problem is that she suffered this mental distress because her employer didn't put in adequate mental health facilities. Yes, she chose to work there and knew what she would be doing but her employer failed to put in the adequate protections.
This is like if a dock worker has a container fall on them and crush their leg because their employer fucked up and didn't want to pay for the adequate safety measures to prevent or mitigate dangers like that. Yes the guy chose to work there and knew they would be dealing with heavy objects all day but it's still on the employer for not taking the right safety measures
It makes me wonder what Facebook's employee manuals must look like, or how specifically their interviews are in regards to a lot of the fucked up shit that gets posted there. I consider myself to be fairly desensitized to gore or mutilation having been a teenager with too much free time on his hands, but I imagine that would be a layman's way to categorize videos under. Even I don't think I could go through hundreds of videos if they contained violence to children or animals without feeling like utter shit at the end of the week. My heart goes out to the boys and girls fighting the good fight so that we don't have to.
Risky jobs don't usually exist without proper ways of dealing with physical or mental injury.
Facebook is seemingly neglecting this, hence the problem.
Someone choosing the job doesn't remove the problem. You cannot expect your workers to be concrete barriers in terms of mental stability, even if they themselves think they can be that.
Facebook should be providing content monitors with rotating shifts, making sure they get a break from certain content. They should also have a therapist or some type of counselor working so that all the employees are checked on and monitored. Doing so will prevent employees from going to far into that state of mind. It would also provide support for any employee who just witnessed something they view as traumatic.
As long as people continue to post questionable shit it has to be reviewed by a person. Sometimes the videos have graphic content, as long as that is true Facebook needs to provide the adequate tools to protect their employee's welfare.
No one debates you because there is nothing to debate. No one is going to bother debating a shit opinion because it is just that - shit and without merit.
You're conveniently ignoring a lot of facts and trying to apply the situation as one being equal to your situation. Which it isn't.
You need to see a mental help professional.
Congrats! You win! A Wikipunch page!
Ironically, this is the same person who will likely get buttflustered because people don't agree with him. Plz protect my ego.
