Nintendo are fucking notorious for their draconian policies regarding fan art ("unsavory" and otherwise), and are near-legendary for how relentlessly and doggedly they hunt down the material. Even art that gets only a few hundred views, which is miniscule in the grand scheme of things, has been known to be hit by cease-and-desist letters for Nintendo.

I can honestly only be impressed by this entire ordeal.
