Some of the greatest of paintings, especially during the end of World War 2 which were exactly the kind of paintings you're whining about are highly celebrated.

I mean you can't auction a piece like this without people knowing about it.
I'm interested in how it was powered. Banksy said this was planned years ago, so someone must have been in on the stunt to put fresh batteries.
Do you know what art is? It is supposed to convey a meaning, and it is absolutely meaningless, at least in some sense, if it is completely lost on most people. A piece that invokes feelings so widely as to be unignorable even by the most simple of people is a work of magnificent artistic quality.
