That's a literal ad for the weather channel: https://youtu.be/48r4IQTB3NE

The storm has an . . . interesting path: https://icons.wunderground.com/data/dhc_archive_charts/at_2018_charts/at201813.gif Current projections include the possibility of making landfall in the Sahara or turning around to go southwest again.
go home leslie you're drunk On a more serious note, Michael's starting to make its way into Georgia. Heavy winds and rain are beginning to blow into my area, and those effects should be more pronounced going into tomorrow as the storm just speeds through.
It actually sustained cat 3 status entering Georgia, becoming their most powerful storm since 1898 and that one entered from the Atlantic.
Send some of that rain California's way. We need it to put out our wildfires
Currently in the eye right now. Storm seems to have calmed down a bit too, though I'd imagine it'll still be a tad gusty going into the mid-morning - early afternoon.
I think it's finally raining here, but the wind's been picking up steadily for the last few hours. Based on the radar, we'll only be seeing the very edge of the storm here.
radical. Power pole just got ripped down and took electricity for the neighborhood with it. Thanks, storm.
Im 45 mins south of Statesboro in Georgia. The power has been out since at least 6 in the morning. I just heard something crack in the woods.
Looks like my family and I might not have a home anymore.
Mexico Beach is destroyed https://twitter.com/news5wcyb/status/1050419504772190213?s=19
God damn. I was just getting some smoked tuna dip at The Place next to this theatre two weeks ago. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/619/6a4b8dcd-7b5d-4f4d-a122-d612c7cbbf0f/1051845112-594x594.jpg
I heard there was about 280 people known to have stayed behind in Mexico Beach, including the Mayor that are currently unaccounted for. Also Tyndall Air Force Base is heavily damaged and destroyed in some spots.
I live on the coast at the outermost edge of the hurricanes path. We were projected to get a 6 foot storm-surge but apparently it was less than three. Only a couple roads flooded. Luckily none of the waterways nearby overflowed. Not gonna lie, this is my third hurricane since moving to Florida and I'm already tired of it. I don't know how people put down roots in coastal Florida. Shits stressful.
So the Hurricane has finally arrive in my county, blowning my area with its big raindrops and disturbing the electricity in my house.

Well, that's it isn't it, you're not a native. I've been in south Florida all my life and it's really just an inconvenience most of the time thankfully. The only one my family has ever evacuated for was Andrew, and that God they did at that considering it was so powerful. Anyway, the panhandle never really sees storms, Michael was historical in this regard. As for South Florida, have tons of building and land use codes that make it so that nearly all of our homes can withstand up to cat 3 rain and winds. I don't think anyone jokes around with cat 4's or 5's though, that's for certain.
I just want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers here. Unfortunately my family evacuated on time and nobody got washed away or carried out to sea. Ill keep my fingers crossed when the next one rolls through!
What is left of it is somewhere between Virginia and Maryland. Almost back to sea for Michael.
A few hours ago I was hit pretty bad but only lost power for about an hour. There was apparently 530 people still without power including my neighbors. Guess I'm a lucky one then. Hope everyone on the East Coast is okay.
Oh boy, the storm surge here in NC is hitting my area again. It was only a week ago the ground finally absorbed enough for the rivers to go down, and I just went out a little bit ago (it's 130 am right now) to look at the rivers (and because it's so nice and pretty outside but that's besides the point) and they are raised quite a bit again.
Michael heads out to sea, and begins to strengthen once again. https://twitter.com/NHC_Atlantic/status/1050624114346487808 https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/storm_graphics/AT14/refresh/AL142018_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind+png/054957_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind.png He's y'alls problem now
Aren't y'all about to get a Hurricane?
Just reporting in that my family and I survived. Our condo in Panama City is unlivable and we're staying with a coworker for the forseeable future. This one was a life changer, we walked outside during the eye, it looked like no man's land, a neighbor from down the road was running around looking for a place to shelter after a tree demolished the trailer he was sheltering in.
I got to see our house finally. This is the backyard, before and after. I need a bigger rake. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/619/dffae48e-834e-4afa-b0a7-716bf4a057f7/received_268777720430980.jpg
Florida governor Rick Scott is suspending his Senate campaign to tend to the damage.
I was going to post this before the site went down: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3ofAJSqpLM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWkgFz3e__w
