"B-but other countries have problems too!" well those countries and issues aren't relevant to this discussion in any way, are they. The United States' school violence problem is an absolute joke to the rest of the world. Own that.
oh my god you don't fucking learn
can we not have a dick measuring contest about which country is having it worst please?
Well you're right about the easy target thing...
imagine seeing that a country has a shooting problem and then tellibg people from that country "haha ur country sucks haha nerd enjoy the school shootings" and thinking that to be the appropriate response. Imagine being that socially maladapted.
People aren't shitting on the idea, they're just pointing out its fucked up and pretty sad a first world country needs to fucking have school shooting drills because they're so common. Yeah dude no shit other countries have problems also, why aren't people able to point out how bad this issue in particular is? It's a very fucked up issue with it only being this bad in America (compared with other first world countries), is it any surprise? Stop getting so offended because people are pointing out a serious problem in your shitty country.
people are mad because you euro weenies keep saying our country (Thats the size of your fucking continent) is universally shitty.
That would be weird... if someone said that
Except you're totally ignoring the per capita numbers dude. Your country has a major problem unlike any other developed country
I'm fairly certain the US has more school shootings than the rest of the world combined, actually.
serious problem in your shitty country.-Sevgi Your country is a fuckin joke. Stop denying it and do something about it- SIRIUS people are saying it. No shit the US has a problem. You being an asshole and going "haha ur cuntry shite lol" is just you being a smug asshole for no reason.
The US is, however, the only country with THIS problem.
You're comparing a single country to an entire continent that is made up of about 50 countries with all different cultures, laws, policies etc. How is that even a fair comparison? Also I'm literally only comparing actual developed countries and afaik there isn't a literal civil war going on in any of them. And nice one dude your landmass of your nation is sure a good argument for a reason why America is superior. Btw I'm not even European nor do I live there, so good to see you didn't take 2 seconds to look at where I'm even from. Also want arguments for why your country is universally shitty? Nice healthcare system Nice mass shootings Nice infanstructure Nice gang violence Nice blatant warmongering corrupt governments for god knows how long now Nice student loan debt Nice police brutality Nice direction your social rights are going in Nice current social divide with the recent extremism in politics Nice homicide rate that is on par with South America and parts of Africa etc... Yeah other countries may have these problems as well, but I doubt all the same issues to the same extent as the US.
Is this problem bad enough that its enough for you to call the entire country (that again, as I must point out, is bigger then your continent) universally shitty? Does calling the US shitty somehow help the problem? What purpose does saying "Haha US = shit" actually serve?
This this this and this again. The faster Americans stop defending this crazy fucking behavior of a developed nation the faster you can go about fixing it. The US is in ruins because industry has taken priority over the livelihoods of it's own citizens and the sovereignty of other nations. Are you alone? No, but you are the front runner, and the golden standard for every civilized nation of what not to do. Ever since WW2 ended the United States has been on a steady decline. I'd argue the primary reason for this, and the main cause of the shooting problem in the US is that the very thing that caused you to win WW2, the amount of excellent arms companies that sprung up to combat the Nazi regime, did not dissolve when the war ended, they went domestic and flooded the country with weapons and increased the NEED for war elsewhere. Call me whatever you like, I'll hold my position reverently that the United States is one of the worlds biggest enemies, and the biggest enemy of it's very own citizens who have been caught up in the antics of those running it. (Sorry for being dramatic and slightly off topic)
That is completely different than "enjoy your school shootings". I'm fucking imploring action here.
I mean I haven't used the word 'shitty', but I will certainly say that it is very symptomatic of some very real and very unique problems that the US is facing, while the rest of the world isn't. So maybe, just maybe, there's a bit of a shit system somewhere in the US that might be helped by getting one's shit together and stop being fucking shitty. You know, since you brought up the word. As for solutions? Restrict access to firearms, start actually taking a minimum amount of care of kids' health, both physical and mental. Bam, that works in the rest of the world, I can't see why it wouldn't work in the US. Now you can't call me out on not suggesting solutions to the problem. Anything else while we're at it?
You're still calling our country shit for essentially no reason other then to stroke your own ego. I must ask what purpose does this "Your country is a fuckin joke." part of your statement serve? Getting your sick burn? Rubbing salt in the wound? What did you have in mind when you made that statement? Its like me saying "Ukraine's a fucking joke because they have a civil war" or "Britain is a fucking because of Brexit" or even "Haha France is a fucking joke because they have a truck/terrorism problem"
He is not calling your country shit for no reason. Most Europeans would kind of laugh at the idea of moving to the US by choice, if they do it's because they want to live on a sunny beach. Aside from that even the worst European countryfolk would be taking quite a dramatic cut in quality of life by moving to the US unless they moved there with significant cash.
Ah yes, the classic American problem-solving technique of "LALALALALA CAN'T HEAR YOU" in action in this very thread!
Yeah okay there buddy. So you're saying the US has a universally shitty quality of life now? Care to back that up in any meaningful way?
Compared to most European countries? Absolutely, tell me, how much does it cost you to call an ambulance if you slip and break your wrist in your kitchen. How about we start there?
I'm the first person to admit the US has problems. I volunteered to pass out food to the homeless. I regularly push for social reforms. I fully acknowledge that theres a lot of shit in our country that needs to be fixed. I'm not plugging my ears and ignoring the problem. I'm calling out people who simply call the US shitty and that "we need to go fix our problems" or that the US in its entirety is a joke because of our myriad issues. If all you people can do is endlessly put words in my mouth and build fallacious strawmen arguments then I fail to see how we can have an actual discussion on what steps are needed to fix the problems America faces.
here ya go https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy_Index The US is a much more flawed democracy than the average European state.
Healthcare costs vary from state to state. Some states and cities have free ambulances for emergency usage. Some area's in the US are shitty. Some area's in the US are good. The entire country does not have the problems you think it does.
it's folk like you who haven't the balls to swallow their pride and solve the problem. what do you expect? praise for the hard effects taken to stop these sprees? or eradicate the culture behind it? what do you actually want people to say, honestly...
OK so some you pay $600-$1000 (a months wage for many people I'm guessing, and this isn't even starting on the treatment itself) in most states and some might be cheaper or even free in certain cities. In Europe, the vast, vast majority of countries have universal healthcare, we pay nothing from start to finish by and large with a few exceptions to this rule, but AFAIK all EEA countries have it. Furthermore, we have a European Health Insurance Card which even lets us travel to countries we aren't even citizens of and our own government will pick up the bill with no cost to ourselves. That's right, I could go to France or Germany and get free healthcare if I needed to and never even have stepped into that country before. The amount of times I've witnessed videos of people ask people to not call an ambulance while they are injured, sometimes straight up bleeding out, is absolutely sickening. It should be a point of embarrassment for you, not something you wave off as other state/cities problems.
so you derail your country's thread and have not even once addressed the issue. you just whined about a ton of issues that don't affect school kids education. how do you expect people to post? you want dialogue yet can't take a single comment of criticism. just forget it..
If all you have is anecdotal statements then I fail to see how you can even remotely support your argument in any meaningful way. Furthermore I was talking about quality of life. Healthcare is an aspect of quality of life, but its not the sole definer. The price for an ambulance ride can be anything from free, to a couple of dollars, to a couple thousand dollars without insurance. Is that shitty? Yes, no shit its shitty. But, as my original statement points out, the US is not homogeneous. Some area's are shitty then others. Some area's have quality of life at or above a lot of European countries. Some area's are complete dogshit. To state that the whole of the US is completely shit and worse then Europe in every way simple shows that you lack any meaningful knowledge of the country and that you lack the knowledge to even have an informed opinion of the state of the US in the first place. If you want to discuss how to fix the US's plethora of problems then I can and will discuss it. But if you want to proclaim your complete ignorance of the issues within the United States then I am going to call you out on it.
