Sony announces it is working on the next generation console

Only good thing that came out of this generation was was VR and the Switch, and VR was on PC, outside of consoles.
I count Switch as Gen9. Wouldn't be the first time a console released a couple of years before its main opponents; Dreamcast was 1999 while Gen6 only really kicked off proper in 2001.
You can't do that either, Wii Backup loaders use a custom filesystem called WBFS
Well I'm honestly not terribly familiar with the modded console side so I'd have to check a few things but I've definitely done it. It's a fat32 formatted drive with WBFS files. I just plugged it in and booted a game to verify I wasn't going crazy.
Yup, WBFS as a filesystem was only needed in the past, now the USB loaders can read files on common systems such as fat32 as well.
I like the PS4, but my god do I hate the Playstation controller. Always have. It's so unergonomic and hurts my hands with both sticks in not very natural positions
You can get an officially licensed asymmetrical ps4 controller now. Although i'm pretty sure its fairly expensive through that Scuf company.
This generation has been alright, I've been enjoying my ps4 but it has felt like 75% of games released lately have just been HD re-releases of old games or reboots of the same franchises. I don't really feel like there's been anything that impactful and new to come out.
I sorta feel that the development of consumer electronics in general has been a lot slower. Case in point: most modern games are playable on a high-end PC built in 2009 (I.E, i7 920 + Radeon HD 5870), GLHF running a game from 2008 on a machine from 1999
What games do you think will be launch titles? Sequel to Horizon? Insomniac’s Spiderman2?
killzone 4
We'll probably eventually see a second-tier console, but It wouldn't be profitable to launch two designs at the beginning.
Will we see editions with larger storage, yeah, but that's about it.
Also, the new consoles are probably going to be 7nm (so what, holiday 2019 launch?), and that combined with a move to the Zen CPU uArch will indeed give significant performance improvements.
Tbh, I'm more excited for the DS5 than the console it's made for at this point.
Hopefully they don't keep the awful triggers they decided to go with for the DS4.
They're still infinitely better than the DS3 triggers. Which some brain genius decided to make convex for extra unusability.
The DS4 triggers were largely fine, if not a bit spongy.
I dunno they feel pretty awful and fragile to me. I'd honestly take the DS3 ones over them.
Don't forget the Parappa The Rapper Remaster (which was a remaster of the PSP version) the LocoRoco 1 & 2 Remasters & Castlevania Requiem (which is a remaster of a remaster of Dracula X Chronicles for the PSP)
The Fat PS4 was sold at a profit thoug, it costed around $380 to manufacture iirc
The DS3-ones were great because placing your controller on the couch or any soft or uneven surface (your own lap too!) caused one or both of the triggers to get pushed causing moments of fun and joy in games such as Dark Souls.
Well neat, I'll wait till that new machine comes out and buy a PS4 on the cheap when people move on to the next big thing.
