dunno about greatest but we're definitely the greenest now
It's not even that controversial since they wasn't the first country to legalize it, that'd be Uruguay.
Yeah but we're the largest and most well known. No offense to Uruguay but I'd wager the average person has either forgotten they did for forgot they even exist.
I mean, outside of when they legalized I can't remember the last time I even heard about anything happening there.
I mean sure, maybe for you, but i'm literally 40 km or a ferry away from there so those news impact me way more than whatever Canada did years later.
You shouldn't downplay how controversial it is, Canada had to push back against at ton of pressure by trading partners not to legalize it, most of all the federal US government.
(Reggae music playing) Canada’s newly elected...
Canada kicking America's ass lately
Yup, we're in violation of international drug trade laws by legalizing.
BC with a considerably low total because only one legal store is open so they didn't count the probably hundreds of thousands of dollars from sales at unlicensed (as of now) dispensaries.
Canada is pretty much an example of most of the things we COULD be if anyone in this country gave a flying fuck about improving themselves or their community
I love that my province sold almost as much in $ amount as Alberta despite having about a quarter of the population
You have to remember that Alberta is very conservative so I think we did pretty damn good given that fact.
And thus a generation of unmotivated stoners was born
hur hur
This assumes that prohibition had any real effect on the use of the drug which for all intents and purpose it didn't.
Your jokes are so flat that even the earth is impressed by them.
Finally, the most important person weighs in.

the 70's, 80's, and 90's called - they want to talk to you
Lower Sackville's NSLC ran out of weed and had to temporarily shut down today.
Lines out the door yet again until close today. I wonder how long it'll keep up.
Alberta's online store ran out of pre-rolled weed this afternoon.
Probably another 1-2 weeks, really depends on how fast stores can restock and get people in and out in a timely manner.
That makes the second store to sell out in Nova Scotia
Really think they should have put more than 1 store that sells cannabis in Cape Breton, it's crazy busy in that parking lot already.
Conservatives hint they won’t look to reverse cannabis legalizat..
Conservative
MP Michael Cooper, who is one of the party’s justice critics, also said
earlier in the day the focus shouldn’t be on whether to reverse
legalization.
Instead, it should be on identifying how to make the system work better.
“Now that legalization is here, it’s here to stay,” he said.
“It’s not a matter of rolling back legalization. It’s a matter of ‘How do we fix some of the gaps?'”
So, no, it looks like they're not that stupid.
Nah because now that its legal people will see moms doing it and cops being okay with it, therefore losing its cool edge.
They are. They're just not stupid enough to start tearing it down right away.
Yeah, I'm actually hoping that legalization kills off "Stoner Culture."
lol if you think alcohol is any better
Conservatives are such cowards, they never speak their minds instead always using euphemisms like here. You know he really wants to say "we'll try to fuck with legalization as much as we can get away with, out of a sense of moral superiority and also because fuck the poor and minorities, we can't put them in prison as easily now".
I'm genuinely curious, have the conservatives ever done anything that had true verifiable long-term benefits?
I really hope it kills off the Stoner Culture too, my facebook is just full of them complaining about every little thing now that it's legalized
Just stopped by one of my local shops, Premium Four20. Line was only about 25-30 minutes long which was nice because they said it had been a couple hours long earlier in the day. Of course there were some Girl Guides outside selling cookies too.
It was pretty nice inside, kinda empty but I expect that because they expected the place to be packed. The only downside is that they were out most everything but the stuff they did have they said they had a lot of.
Sorry, but I don't trust anything a conservative politician says. They're kings of going "We won't do that thing. *6 months to 1 year later* We're doing that thing.". Fuck 'em
Getting rid of the long-gun registry...? But that was only really a good thing because of how mismanaged it was.
Speaking of Conservatives, didn't every single conservative MP vote against the legalization bill?
