it looks embossed, sadly

Can I just say that the design just looks really boring and uninspiring? It’s literally just a yellow SCAR L with the fortnite logo and nerf logo pasted on it. It looks like a 3D printed toy gun.
Compare this to other Nerf guns made over the years:

the things that make it more patently fortnitey is the tapering of the sight and muzzle, along with the generic fat gouges you see with low poly/handpainted texture stylized games. Makes it look like a beat up piece of craft foam tbh
You think this is crazy: Gamestop is having a deal right now where you can trade in your existing Nintendo Switch for.... credit towards another Nintendo Switch. The author of the article I read was understandably confused as to why even Gamestop, as notorious as they are for shitty deals, would do something this inexplicable. And then someone in the comments section made it all clear: it's cause a bunch of kids want to trade in their Switches for new ones just so they can get the exclusive skins in the new Fortnite bundles.
That's how insanely popular this fucking game is. It truly is Minecraft 2.0. Sad, because it's not half as cool as Minecraft.
That sounds depressing.
DLC and microtransactions like skins are becoming more important than actual content.
In this case it's not so much about DLC and microtransactions per say, as it is just about kids being dumb. (not to demean them - we've all been there ourselves. It's a natural part of growing up.) I recall somebody online saying that if they ever made a Minecraft 2 and all it changed was that it gave the Creeper a fucking hat, his kid would still want it for christmas - and I have no doubt it would be a sales juggernaut that holday season.
The only things I don't like about Fortnite are its stupid memes and busy visuals. Also, they copied the Groovitron.
It's just a minimalist style.
I'm not hating Fortnite entirely because it's actually a good game but the amount of exposure it gets is pretty insane. Every goddamn kid that I met plays this game and the merchandise is everywhere.
Recently, I've been in vacation in Sardinia. Literally a town that is absolutely deserted and lost, the ass of the world. Suddenly you walk among a small shop that sells some meat and cheese, suddenly you see Fortnite sweaters out of nowhere. This shit is everywhere. Worst though is that a lot of news sites and videos cover Fortnite and if you don't have any real interest in the game, well you just have to get used to seeing it.
I got a Walking Dead nerf gun. The logo on that was just a decal, although some scratches and damage were molded into the plastic.
