I do like Mr.Driller and Puzzle Fighter but it's not something that should be on there before things like Spyro, Crash, Ape Escape, Medievil, PaRappa, Tony Hawk, etc. Most of those would be unplayable with no analog sticks though.
No Spyro no buyro.
Probably because Toshinden has historical significance as an early killer app and at one point the game that came packed in for free. Also, it seems like a few of the selections are just there as they are the firsts in popular series. Why else would the choppy, borderline unplayable PSX version of Rainbow 6 be there? Or GTA 1? Or Twisted Metal, especially since Twisted Metal 2 is considered superior in every way?
Yep, performs fine with even a 2, it's incredibly easy since everything is packaged for you. But you can even make minor adjustments to improve performance and graphics too, assuming you're using the 3 B+.
Japan gets Armored Core but US doesn't? Dropped.
Considering both of those have recieced next gen remakes, they probably didn’t think it was worth it, or somehow thought it was gonna cut into profit margins down the line
No Pepsiman? smh
This list blows. They should've bothered with DualShock controllers instead of no analog, which would've allowed them the opportunity to get some of the later and better games on the system, but instead they sprung for a list with some highlights and mediocre filler. How can you rip off Nintendo, which only had like one or two filler games like Kirby's Dream Course in their line-up, and then fuck it up this hard?
No Front Mission 3 either wtf
No RE2 or RE3, no buy for me. RE: Director's Cut is ok, but it's only really included for being one of the first of its kindt. RE2 and even moreso RE3 are just far more fun to play. Almost everyone I know that had a PS1 actually consider RE1 to be mediocre at best compared to RE2 and 3. I'll definitely pass on this. Also no Syphon Filter 2 or 3, those are also superior to the first game. Same for Twisted Metal, the sequels are typically much better. Upon further analysis, this thing is aimed at people who've never played a PS1 game before or only a few upon recommendation by nostalgic video game Youtube channels.
It even feels more dated than some of the other SMT titles from the same time. I had an easier time getting into SMT1&2 than I had getting into Persona 1.
Having GTA1 on there is an odd choice imo
could've put crash team racing in there to make people remember how good it is since it's pretty obvious that a remaster of ctr is gonna come out soon enough because of how popular the remasters of 1, 2 and 3 were
Annoyed that only Japan got Parasite Eve. They have better taste, I guess.
No crash or Spyro but I'm pretty glad it's got at least MGS and Resident Evil. Also no Gran Turismo what in the actual fuck
Honestly, that everyone is so disillusioned by that lineup even though like all but 5 of all games being released on the PS Classic worldwide are pretty good is a testament to how overall great the PS1's games library was. Crash and Spyro probably wouldn't make it because Activision is trying to sell both series for 60 moneys and since the system doesn't have a DualShock, Ape Escape is also off-limits
Honestly this is the real travesty. smh I think a lot of the genuine gems like Crash, Spyro and the Hawkmans games are missing due to licencing issues no doubt. Crash and Spyro currently belong to Activision who are bleeding them dry and who released remakes recently. They aren't going to give up the rights for the old titles just yet. Similarly, the THPS series is owned by Activision and includes a SHITLOAD of licensing for brands and music that has almost certainly expired preventing the resale of those games as new. Hence why you can't find things like THUG, THUG 2 and THAW on online stores today. Things like FFVII and all that are wholly unique assets for the most part so all licenses are in the hands of the creators. And SE aren't absolute garbagelords compared to Activision so that shit's good with them. Where's Symphony of the Night motherfuckers.
Wow that list is hot garbage. Literally the only thing there that I'm seriously interested in is MGS and I've still got my original PS1 discs for it. Litterally feels like you could do better just throwing your own emulation device together.
ive already got a PlayStation Classic its called a PlayStation
I've got my PS3. It even supports dualshock!
I can almost 100% guarantee the reasoning for no Gran Turismo is licensing. The manufacturer agreements probably expired 10 years ago. But yeah, no Crash and Spyro is a sin, even if they both just got remasters recently. Which might be why.
Finally, I can now play the Directors cut of Resident Evil complete with this theme to cement my purchase of a inferior PSX experience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kcF7E69C6Q
ok here's what it should've been Metal Gear Solid Ridge Racer Type 4 Gran Turismo 2 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy IX Crash Bandicoot Tekken 3 Ape Escape PaRappa the Rapper UmJammer Lammy GTA1 Resident Evil 2 Twisted Metal Tomb Raider Silent Hill
I would've liked to have seen legend of dragoon on there too. Tony Hawk not appearing is kinda crazy, though I imagine it's a licensing nightmare
Where the fuck is silent hill?
I'm not seeing enough uproar over no Dino Crisis 1/2.
Playstation classic has no games
The music licensing alone would probably cost half the other games combined, let alone the bonus characters and actual people.
so none of the games that made the ps1 any good, not even any racing games like need for speed for fucking Jet Moto. Not even gran turismo????? Literally no one is going to buy this, good job staying out of touch sony.
Not just cost-cutting, it demonstrates that aside from the inevitable greats that are on there, the whole thing is nothing more than a throw-away collector's product intended to make lots of holiday money.
