I'd be cool with it if we lived in a time where Nazis were completely a thing of the past but the fact that the ideology still exists and has had a very public resurgence just days prior makes it extremely tone deaf. Especially combined with the fact that the dude seems sympathetic to that ideology. If 2018 was what it should be where these ideals are shunned to the far fringe, and it was some reenactor displaying his uniform on Halloween, that would be fine imo. But it's not that. I'm not gonna lose sleep over it but this dude shouldn't be surprised that he's getting backlash.

This is going to be an unpopular opinion but I can't see a scenario where anyone should or would want to dress up as a Nazi on Halloween, even if we weren't inundated with the consequences of far-right politics on a daily basis. It just doesn't seem to fit the reason of the season as it were.

I understand you're against PC culture, but please try to understand that this guy is literally a Nazi. Your argument that Nazi's are just history is really silly when Nazi's were shooting up synagogues not even a week ago.
I consider myself extremely far left, and I don't really care at all that people dress up as Nazis as a joke or for fun. Nazi's are obviously really snappy dressers, and someone doesn't have to be a Nazi to enjoy that.
However I don't like it when it's clearly used as a political weapon or dog-whistle to strengthen and justify literal Nazis in their ideology. When that happens, it seems like synagogues get shot and US administrations get more fascist.
That's clearly what the case is here, and I believe that's why "the far left" doesn't like it.
I grew up in a deep red state, and as I was growing up it seemed like media universally agreed that Nazi's are deserving of nothing but getting violently murdered.
Maybe it's just the content I was exposed to, because it seems like lots of people like you are so ready to jump and defend these monsters.
