As a diehard democrat, I can very much confirm this is true. Sometimes you just have to get kinky... Very much so, in fact BDSM is kind of the ultimate form of caring for your partner. It might seem paradoxical, but a good dominants job is not to just order their submissive around, but it's to tend to their sub's needs and wants the best of their abilities, just simply with the authority and intent to *not* give it so freely. A dominant who just orders their submissive around, abusing them without any care for how the submissive feels, is not a real dominant. They're opportunists who don't actually give a shit about BDSM. A real dominant will always provide safety, security, and the utmost care for their submissive, and anyone who says otherwise doesn't understand BDSM. (keep in mind this is glossing over a fuck ton like how where with masters it's more sexual needs and with daddies it's both emotional and sexual needs, but I doubt people give a shit and probably find it weird more than anything)

One thing I find interesting about dominant-submissive relationships is that it's often a lot more work to be "dominant" even though the submissive one is the one who's supposed to be the "slave". Has to do with the fact that the dominant one is basically the "dungeon master" of the scenario, to use board game terminology.

Very much so. The dominant is in charge of the direction of whatever activity they're doing goes, and leading their submissive in what to do. It's on them to actually be the ones to do most of what goes on, the submissive usually either sits there and lets them do it or if requested, follows orders. It's for this reason a lot of people get turned off of being a dominant in BDSM before even getting to the kinky weird shit. BDSM is just straight up interesting how paradoxical the perception of it and what everyone thinks its supposed to be, and what it actually is.
