• Diablo: Immortal coming to mobile as a ‘full-fledged’ action RPG

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-SLvqXyrI4 It's literally a fucking reskin of the Diablo knockoff by the same developers.
Remember when people thought Activision was better than EA? At least EA tries to admit to mistakes after seriously backlash.

Excuse my while I cry in the corner clutching my Diablo 2 battlechest
NetEase's other games are filled to the brim with pay2win microtransactions by the way. That's why people hate mobile games. It's an irredeemable marketplace of bait&switch conjobs trying to rip you off. Every single last game is designed to extract your money down to the last penny out of you. It's the most exploitative hive of low-quality entertainment in existence, and the sheer association of a game with the term "mobile" already comes with exactly those implications.
-70 Attitude with Blizzard
This is the nail in the coffin imo. If they had actually made a mobile game themselves then it wouldn't be so bad, it may have actually been okay, but to pay a Chinese mobile developer that has already made a ripoff of your game to slap a skin on it and call it official is just lazy and throws the core fan base under the bus. I'm not even a big fan of Diablo, I've only played 3, and even I think this is really shitty.
I am honestly minblown, this is some next level shit of only caring about money.
The reaction might be enough to get a proper PC version. It's possible. Division was going to be console only until the PC market went Hey fuck you give us that shit, too. After a few petitions from PC gamers they said alright we'll do a PC version too
I love Diablo Moblie because it supports the publisher muhahahaaaaa And just to throw my 400 million papiermarks in the ring regarding ARPGs, I always feel like ARPGs have enormous pacing problems. You can't expect players to do all the side content or have good enough gear to face the next dungeon, the same way you can't assume players won't spend 8 hours in the same area until they have fuck you equipment that trivializes the next quarter of the game. Torchlight 2 is on the "gotta spend 8 hours to get passable equipment for the next dungeon" side, PoE is on the "realize after 8 hours your building route sucks and you get to start over" side and Diablo 3 is on the "auto-pilot is on" side so it's incredibly goddamn boring (especially in acts 2 and 3, goddamn) but I guess that's what makes it eligible for a mobile release, after you get your character to max level you just grind out rift runs and having nothing to care about.
I liked that they kicked out the guy who asked if it was a late april fool's joke, nothing shows your true colors like criticism and how you handle it.
A new proper Diablo wouldn't have been good anyway cause Blizzard don't know what made it good anymore. The first two games had a dark, somewhat understated horror atmosphere, Diablo 3 just looks and feels like a gorier Warcraft with the cartoony artstyle like every Blizzard game have had since Warcraft 3.
NetEase, the company they outsourced this to is Chinese. So it’s not a difficult guess to why Witch Doctor was left behind. Christ, Blizz
No, if it was the Chinese thing about skeletons and the dead Necro would have been missing and Witch Doctor would be in his place
Blizzard stories have also become really irritatingly obsessed with having these epic Warhammer style universes with absurdly bloated plots about epic good vs evil confrontations. If you just played the first two Diablo games, you could make a point about how it's a harsh world and humanity struggling with fighting evil both literally and in their hearts or whatever is kinda the theme but Diablo 3 just makes it a super saiyan epic heaven vs. hell epic Warhammer war with dumb characters speaking in imposing voices and being really stupid while humanity just kinda exists to be a punching bag to make you think there's an epic war going on.
The Witch Doctor is probably missing because phones can't handle the minions.
Necro

I think Diablo 3 has the right pace now. At launch, nah. No thank you. But now days, it's pretty good. It has something for everyone, and every time you log out the character that you played is improved in some way over when you logged in. No matter how casual or hardcore you go, there's something for you PoE would be THE ARPG killer if only you could more easily respec. I know it's an intentional decision to make it the way it is, but to me, with a tree so vast and the total freedom of experimentation with how skills work, it desperately needs a respec feature
I watched the blizzcon stream (friend bought the pass) and this whole announcement felt so awkward and stupid. I kinda feel bad for the announcer though, after he announced the game he had trouble to find his words after seeing the dissapointment from the whole crowd.
Why would i support dogshit practices?
Corporate shilling under the guidance of looking out for some group is always hilarious to me.
Especially when the black character is the only one that didn’t make the cut because China marketing’s racism.
Apparently they did a new upload of the same trailer, and linked it on Battle.net in place of the previous one, so it had less dislikes. New https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iajnrdSj1o Old https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtSmAwpVHsA
its already rising to high dislike numbers (51k) and has not even 500 likes on the new one
Are they being ironic or are they seriously being corporate bootlickers?
It's just the norm. It's been the norm for years. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/129/d4d840f2-7c51-4dd9-8906-1a83d9783125/1541250682815[1].jpg
Game journalism companies are often just contract pr companies.
Why do you think some of these sites were against gamergate from the moment it began, long before anyone was actually harassed? The whole reason video games "journalism" is often anything but is because, unlike real journalism, they've relied on the approval of the game corps in order to snag free, pre-release review copies and other shit - not to mention ad revenue from full banner ads for very same games that they're reviewing. Their reporting has always been compromised, and it will never change, especially not now that gamergate is now permanently associated with the alt-right by and large, "proving" their initial assumptions that the only people who had any issue with games journalism did so because they were racists and hated "SJWS." (Its also really funny how the most anti-gamergater forum in existence, resetera (and formerly neogaf), is also the one with the most serious plague of corporate bootlicking. For the love of god, they have a rule that you can't call any developer lazy, period.)
