Man Drags Himself Through Terminal After Flight Forgets His Wheelchair

probably because it comes off as it somehow being the man's fault instead of the airport
not really. maybe you should learn about uk banter, it is not the same as your "literal" jokes.
It's almost like communication is a two way street and the lack of non-verbals makes it hard to tell a joke sometimes
most of us don't immediately think "oh it's just uk banter lol", I mean either way I didn't find it funny
maybe it would be different if we were out in bars drinking and making crass jokes but that's not the context right now
I'm sorry I thought this was a UK based website, but I must've been mistaken. I'll make sure all my jokes at North America compliant from now on.
/s <---- added for NA joke accessibility, so we can all know when to laugh
I know the website is UK based but according to the 2017 sensus, you guys literally only make 15% of the userbase. North America literally makes over 50% of the userbase here.
Don't give me that "in our hood" shit, son.
Please do not make light of the people living in ghettos, it's actually pretty triggering, as I identify very much with my African-American brethren, whom are also suppressed by a dominant, white, American majority. Please be mindful of your inherent American privilege.
The argument was literally
and I said
because 85% of us aren't from the UK
and you tried to justify that we SHOULD have known because
But that's just asinine since this is an international forum.
I'm not offended by his joke, it's a shit joke but I'm fine with him saying it. I just find it absurd that you somehow think it's our fault we don't find it funny "because we should learn about UK banter".
Sure, but we can still find it to be a shit joke as well.
You're full of shit, man.
Slow down mate, I literally thought we were just riffing here.
I know you were taking the piss but how could you have possibly misconstrued my owns posts as me joking alongside you?
That wheelchair is only used from the gate to your seat and from your seat to inside the terminal. If he REFUSED that to either get on or off the plane, he is a idiot because no one is going to carry him on or off and I am sure they would refuse him boarding if he was going to drag himself on the plane (airline can argue it is not safe at the threshold between the jetway and aircraft door and to protect him, they refused boarding). If that was the only thing in the terminal to get him to where he needs to go next and he again refused it, he really does not have much of a legal case. Disability laws go both ways, if the disabled refuses accommodations, they loose their legal protection.
Seeing as he is suing for emotional damages, he clearly knows this and it will now be a uphill battle to prove that what he AND the airport did were legal/illegal. Because he refused help, it is not looking good for him. It will all come down to what was exchanged between him arriving up to the point he refused accommodations.
My partner uses a wheelchair and while she gets pushed around a lot I'd understand easily why she'd have told the airport to fuck off in this situation. End of the day they shouldn't have fucked up and lost his chair, they should've had some manual options available.
Really depends on the specifics of the laws, I'm not a lawyer so I can't weight it but if he hired a good one and they think he can win this it's possible that there is such language as "able to refuse if accomodations are not appropriate". I feel like he should win this, it's difficult enough being disabled without losing your dignity but sure as hell ain't clear-cut from a legal perspective.
Only your last one, just the hood line. And well, obviously there’s nothing here for anyone to get upset over, so I kinda just assumed you weren’t taking all this so seriously.
It's fine. Let's get back to the matter at hand.
It all comes down to what was said AND if there is evidence of it to back it up. We already know he refused the help. We do not know all the other factors. Courts do not like he said she said.
*England
Why are you a 24/7 party pooper now
Yeah, I feel like it's going to revolve around if the accommodations given would be considered enough by the law. If there's no precedent a judge might have to set one, whichever way it goes.
garry is british so this website is, get with the program guys.
I officially claim this as American territory

Luton is so shite it makes Stansted look good.
Something being legal does not mean it is inherently ethical.
honestly, they forgot a paralyzed dude's wheelchair, so he probably thought he'd play it up to teach them a lesson. I don't think there's really anything dishonest about it.
