It's not just about the size of the monitor or the ratio, the distance to the monitor is a big factor. Usually the closer you are to a monitor, the more natural a high FOV feels.
90 is usually fine for me, but some games 90 doesn't mean 90.
The FoV in Fallout 76 feels more like 80 than 90. Combined with the atrocious DoF it makes the game very hard on the eyes.
The atrocious framerate doesn't help either - after the most recent 40GB patch on Xbox One X, the framerate was even worse; the Top of the World area was consistently below 15 FPS when fighting the Super Mutants making combat all but impossible. Given all the issues this game currently has I don't know why anyone would part with cash for it on the 14th. I did enjoy the exploration of the map, but that's just a solitary tick in the positives column.
