Strange, I was getting the "activating licence" warning a few minutes ago but now it's gone.
look into gpu passthrough and you can just run windows 10 in qemu or whatever to get the games
No downgrade but still "error validating key" which went away for a bit but came back.
Ha, joke's on you!

Happened to me as well, I just did activation troubleshooter and my PC automatically fixed the issue and I'm still running Pro.
Happened to me this morning, and like others have said, after running the troubleshooter it reactivated windows.
I'm so buttmad that I didn't get myself into linux
But I also don't care enough because I almost never have these issues people have. It's like I exist in a bubble of working software.
If Proton ever reaches the point where the majority of my Steam library can run with little to no performance loss, and new releases instantly work via Proton, I'll probably make the jump to full Linux.
It's really just games that are keeping me held back. I'm not a heavy enough image editor to where I would require Photoshop over GIMP, I already prefer Blender to Maya, and I'm sure I could get away with using Kdenlive over Vegas.
I tried running my education key from onthehub on my surface and it wouldn't go through. Maybe because I already used it on a desktop?
It happened to me and I purchased actual Windows 10 Pro. This is bullshit.
I did the upgrade from W8 to W10 Pro. I didn't lose my key oddly enough, but I also extracted my key with a program (Can't remember what it was called) and actually tied it to my MS account. So maybe that is why I am not affected by it.
When this first happened I hit Troubleshoot and it went away. Afaik it was using the 8 Pro key tied to my MS account though now it seems to be an OEM key.
No no, I actually purchased a W10 Pro key.
ANd it did this shit to me. Its not even the first time, the last time I had switched motherboards and their 'automatic' solution didn't work so I had to wait to get a brand new key.
My brother and I share an activation key because the one time I booted my hard drive in his pc. Called Microsoft to validate it, and both PC's are valid to this day.
Took ten minutes to call them and get an activation key from serial

Happened to me, but literally all I had to do was go to "my pc" and hit properties. Didn't even have to do the troubleshooter. As soon as the window opened it magically reactivated.
Just got it as well, doing that made it disappear within a second. Gj windows
Fixed for me~
like what am I supposed to do
this is bullshit man
At first the troubleshooter worked but when I powered up my machine this morning; the fucking message popped up telling me i need to "activate windows" again, but when i when to use the troubleshooter again it acted like everything was fine and message went away. I dont know if shutting down one's machine would make that message show up again, I'm getting false positives (or negatives in this case) or if the troubleshooter never worked.
But fucking hell I'm seriously considering just permanently using Kubuntu or the Debian installs that i have on a separate Hard drive.
no issues since i linked my ms account to the key
~90% of all the complaints i have about Windows 10 are not the Operating System itself, bu Microsoft being fucking retards.
