Makes sense for 4chan, really, considering how porn is still such a taboo category for advertisers and if it keeps the 4chan's doors open, nobody really loses.

People post porn or at the very least suggestive images on blue boards and sometimes the mods or janitor's take an hour to clear up

Hiro should know that blue boards will still get porn and gore spammers anyway, he's just trying to trick advertisers into thinking it'll be fine. I'm not sure if that'll work unless he bends the knee and starts bringing in extremely authoritarian moderators that remove anything the advertisers don't want.
I wonder what is gonna happen to the semi-NSFW content of the blue boards. For example, on /a/ you can have a thread about a ecchi anime/manga like Monster Musume, on /v/ there are thread about porn games (Without NSFW screenshots), etc.
I love how this basically signals that /pol/ /b/ and others will probably eventually be shuttered because it isnt profitable

whatever happened to j-list? they were the advertisers on 4chan for as long as i can remember and their ads just disappeared at some point and ive never heard why. they have a NSFW site so being an advertiser on 4chan worked out fine too

Not at all. Just because these new ads are more profitable doesn't mean that the old ones were completely non profitable.
Additionally, even if they didn't make any money in the long run, those boards would function as loss leaders.
theyd be stupid to do that as while it seems like its become a bit of a joke, they do somewhat actually function as containment boards

Those boards bring loads of traffic that infests other boards. Moot might've gotten rid of them if he wasn't an idiot with the mentality of a lazy forum moderator from 1999, but Hiro doesn't give a fuck
about what they post as long as they keep coming back.
the amount of /pol/ leakage across the entire site is terrible.
Seperating the communities by domain is a major step towards preventing that. Especially since the SFW boards are being moved to a new domain while the original domain will still be the magnet.
And it's a real shame that pol does what it does, because 4chan still produces gold even to this day. It's not universally filled with shitheads like some uninformed people claim - its just that pol singlehandedly polutes their reputation by seeping into and dragging down the quality of discourse of every other board.

If you advertised the just the right kind of stuff you'd get loads in advertising revenue. A huge portion of the users are impressionable and gullible.

From what I can tell, all the boards will be available to post on from 4chan.org like normal, whereas 4channel will only show the SFW boards.

All this means is that blue boards are going to be even more of a shithole because of the same fucktards spamming /pol/bait and offtopic just spamming them more because it's even less allowed now
