"We wanted the players to be the characters." Fuckin level 43 boss in Gamestop guys, watch it.
The fuck do people think we'll just take shit if you don't have the receipt? I see it constantly happen at my department.
That 2 hours/2 weeks refund policy on Steam already goes beyond what they're legally obligated to give you, though - that's them complying with EU law and then doing more than they have to. EU law says that you lose the "right to withdraw" upon making use of a digital serviceby having it start to be provided to you, which in this sort of case would be when the game is activated on your account immediately after buying it. In the EU you have the right to return these purchases within 14 days for a full refund. You can do so for any reason – even if you simply changed your mind. The 14-day "cooling off" period does not apply to all purchases. Some of the exemptions are: online digital content, if you have already started downloading or streaming it goods bought from a private individual rather than a company So obviously while it would be nicer to have a better refund policy, it's already an extra addition that they even have one at all.
Geez you went out of your way to make this post bootlicky as possible
No receipt? No refund, fuck off and come back when you have it. This is an industry standard policy, regardless if its a digital key or not. This guy is a giant moron, had my own experiences with people like that when working retail and you just gotta sit there and take it with this neutral, non-aggressive look on your face while saying everything in your head. Sometimes they just shout abuse at you and walk away, sometimes they demand for the manager who just tells them the exact same story, other times they trash the place then refuse to leave which ends up being a police matter, guy is lucky he just walked out after having his manchild tantrum.
Thinking that people don't have the right to just destroy shit when they don't get a refund without a receipt is not bootlicky, it's being a reasonable fucking person.
geez you went out of your way to prove you're a garbage human being if you think shit like this is ok
how tf is this bootlicky in the slightest to even make an ironic assumption of "you went out of your way" Because you saying this explicitly implies you think that the man's tamper tantrum was justified
A pretty shitty one, we live in the age where purchases can be tracked by databases. Its a gate keeping method pure and simple.
This has nothing to do with games and gatekeeping. You buy anything form a physical store, no receipt or other form to act as proof of purchase, no refund. This is an industry standard, only a few don't do this like Amazon but that is because they function purely via the web and the proof of purchase is already all linked. While a physical store has locations in multiple places, which while has a central database, the receipt or order number is the proof they purchased the goods, if this wasn't a thing you could easily abuse it by faking you bought X from Y in one location and trying to refund it another one of their stores.
I'm with him fuck gamestop.
I don't think the trashing was justified because it ultimately harms employees more than gamestop but I find it odd they explicitly state multimillion dollar company and corporate policy, it just came off as bootlicky.
He's holding a receipt and the clerk even says "when we scan that receipt"
Bethesda shit the bed with this game.
We also live in an age with plenty of options to acquire the same product so if you don't like a company for having "gatekeeping methods to stop you from returning bad games" you can either make more educated purchases or go to a place with a better refund policy. In this day and age you'd have to go out of your way to buy a game blind. And be pretty damn stupid on top of that, as far as I'm concerned.
Bit of conflicting info related to what people are saying then, eitherway it isn't an uncommon practice in the US to give only credit instead of a refund. Can't do that in Europe though, have to offer both, either way guy is still being a moron.
That isn't really what he said though. He said the guy had every right to be mad. And he does. That doesn't mean he has the right to knock stuff over and damage their property.
Didn't you just watch the guy consumer pushback the fuck out of those displays? Though honestly, I don't even know why people shop at GameStop anymore.
The real lesson here is don’t shop at GameStop. Also not buying Bethesda’s broken shit.
Always wait for reviews...
