Counter-Strike: Global Offensive gets a battle royale mode

I'm sure they've done a lot for all five people on the planet who can afford a vive
Source can absolutely do bullet physics, I've literally done it before. Creating them as actual physics objects doesn't work well, but if you virtually simulate them using math (which is a far better solution for any engine, not just Source), and put them under the control of some form of manager system, you can do bullet physics as complex as Battlefield.
There is nothing more enjoyable than seeing my favourite YouTuber play this amazing game and have an immersive experience with their $1,000 vive as well as their $2,000 computer required to run it smoothly.
Yay, a new CS game mode for me to suck at.
A Vive costs literally half of what you're saying it does, and you can play VR games with a sub $1000 PC just fine.
The gamemode is so weird and just incredibly below average.
It's a sorta creative idea and put some energy back into the game but god is it ever so bland.
The gamemode is gonna be nice to chillout after playing competitive and f2p seems to be a good choice considering valve put in effort into culling hackers so that shit shouldn't be a problem any more and more numbers to a game is always a good thing.
Bullet physics in Battlefield are complex?
Afaik its just a parabole going from your gun to where its aimed. Now give me Arma 3 ballistics
When do we get battle royale for TF2?
Except the prices of vives have been dropping, and you can play vr on 600 dollar PCs just fine.
And with the introduction of motion smoothing, requirements have dropped further.
And even without the vive specifically, valve created the steamvr / openvr standard that allowed multiple different headsets to operate under a single standard, including windows mixed reality headsets which can drop under 200 dollars during sales.
And that also continues to discount valves role in bringing linux game into the realm of possibility.
Again, I contests valves actions here, and in decision with things like artifact. But to dismiss everything they did recently is childish
whats wrong with dota dude
played a bit of this mode, it's pretty decent with some nice ideas but severely limited by it's engine. having the CSGO gameplay for something like this is quite nice, similar to how putting CoD gameplay to BR feel different.
it has so many displacements that garry's mod can't handle the map as it is.
backport from source 2 to csgo source to even older source. that's gonna be fun for whoever is interested.
this is p good for a pet project. I like what the buying and drones bring to the table.
Someone else please steal the idea.
Played it as soon as it launched, and even though I'm fairly indifferent to BR as a genre, Danger Zone is actually quite fun, but as many others said, it's severely hampered by the game engine, although the map itself is quite nice, but it would benefit from being a bit larger and supporting a few more players.
Not taking in account the stuff Valve did lately, I'd say this update will be quite healthy for CS GO as a whole, since it brings the game closer to the custom game modes seen in 1.6 and Source, instead of focusing purely on the competitive scene, although I'm sure that this new game mode will also have its fair share of attention in that aspect. The only worrying thing is the game going free to play, but then again, the previous money barrier for hacker accounts wasn't exactly high, so I guess it won't affect hacker population that much, though I assume the servers will be unfortunately infested these few coming days, but maybe this whole change in the game dynamic will make Valve raise their game regarding VAC.
Overall, I'm actually quite happy with this update, I think it finally brought something ''new'' to the game. Even though it's most likely a cash-in on the BR craze, i'd say it's a fairly polished one, even though they've got quite a few things to fix, like the engine limitations and some in-game balancing to fit the CS mechanics even more, and the weight of the CS gunplay fits the BR gamemode like a glove, at least in my opinion, not to mention it's just a blast making a squad with a friend and exploring the map MGS style!
the funny thing is they probably set a couple standards within the checked things as well, as stupid as it is
TBH it actually doesn't look too bad, and I normally don't like Battle Royale. I'll have to try it I suppose.
It's not pretty, but I fit 100 km of train track and subway tunnels onto a single map through all sorts of dubious means. Source engine just barely handles it.

I actually think it’s really cool to see something of this scale in a Valve game. It’s not too big as to compromise on detail, using rooftops and underground areas for environmental variety.
I mean, I don’t know how fun it is to play, but it’s inspirational for someone who‘s thinking about the potential of large maps in games such as TF2. Not like Hydro, but done right.
i honestly actually quite like the mode, its only 16 players, the map is small and it has basically every aspect of CS that everyone knows of, it's basically what would happen if cs was a BR game, and really its quite fun
I'm honestly excited to try it out. Valve are questionably greedy these days but this mode has always piqued my interest with CS mechanics.
CS:GO crashes for me on launch. "Great".
You are not missing much right now, CS:GO matchmaking servers are down.
you still get to plant the bomb right?
You can plant the c4 if you know if someones camping somewhere but it takes too long to blow up to be honest its pretty interesting how much things they crammed into it, you can even do old style call of dooty camping with remote bombs.
As guy who has like 500 hours in pubg where pretty much half of those hours were spent camping (yes i have the patience of grass), a hour of fortnite before I uninstalled it, then a another hour in black out beta, I love this game mode more than those.
