Is there any word about what engine this is built on? It looks pretty good.
Either way I hope it still retains the moddability FNV had without the jank of the gamebryo. The first impression is really good though.
I fokken love flaws system. Really liked it in Daggerfall and hopefully this one here is something big and not just "-5 less damage to enemy".
iirc prior to them teasing the title of this game, when they announced Obsidian will be partnering up with another dev to create a new AAA-game, it'd be a 'vast RPG fully 3D RPG project made in Unreal Engine 4' so it's most likely UE4.
The opening scene is particularly similar to the one in FO4 where your spouse gets murdered. I wonder if they're making fun of that too?
I mean, the very strong direction of Chris Avellone, who was responsible for a lot of what we love about New Vegas, won't be there on this one.
So I'm a bit pessimistic, honestly.
I'm usually proper against pre-orders, but I think I will make an exception for this game.
Fallout NV is my favourite game of all time, and I've been desperate for another RPG like it for years. This isn't just another half baked instalment in some AAA franchise, This is something I'm going to want to put money aside for and get day one no matter what- so I might as well take advantage of the preload.
Josh Sawyer directed New Vegas, Avellone only directed the DLC.

Reminds me more of Doc Brown than Rick
The fact there's no romance involved is actually pretty refreshing. Ever since BioWare popularized romance in their games, every other RPG seem to keep trying to follow suit, and failing due to awkward writing and unfitting for the setting and tone.
Everything else sounds really good and promising.
Shame this won't make BGS improve at all.
This looks really good, although I am bit sad that Chris Avellone and Josh Sawyer are gone.
Sawyer has actually expressed heavy distaste for romance paths in games, and as far as I know, Obsidian games tend to avoid them.
I forgot about Obsidian's new game announcement, I remembered to check their site and I saw it and immediately came to find this thread
I am actually excited about a game ever since Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Josh Sawyer isn't gone though.
Where is everyone getting this?
Sounds fun, just hope it can be modded.
Unreal 4
Chris did 2 characters. Sawyer directed and another writer did the main quest line.
its like they started their research on the bethesda forums after fallout 4 launched.
While I'm not a fan of the Borderlands vibe in the trailer, those screenshots make it look real interesting.
I've got a good feeling about this one.
checks many things for me:
RPG.
Firstperson.
decent humor.
good atmosphere.
doesn't appear to be remotely related to battle royale.
Crazy ass weaponry.
Robots.
Looking good so far. Even if it comes out as sub par, with the shit Bethesda, Epic and Valve pulled this year it wont take much to show them up and hog the limelight.
I'm hyped as FUCK for this! but how will any sequels work? Xbox only?
I was initially dismissive of the "Space New Vegas" label but this list honestly just makes that title seem a bit more fitting.
I'm definitely going to be reducing the color saturation of the game in the Nvidia control panel, though. Those screenshots are a bit... much.
make my character neigh unbeatable except from the one weakest enemy in the game.
Nope the buy out happened too late, coming to PC and PS4.
After seeing the trailer this is the first and only game this year that isn't a sequel, off shoot or remake and will likely have the PC version released in a timely manor that I have a good feeling about.
The bold is due to PC being my platform and therefore quite a few supposedly good games were console exclusive or will have PC versions in a few years. And also due to the fact that a few upcoming sequels and remakes look decent.
WEll, yeah. This one. But what about Second installment?
Can't see it getting ported to ps4 next time, likely PC will be fine since MS are cool with it.
The only thing that looks off to me is combat. Just looks kinda stilted to me in terms of animations for both player and enemies. I'd describe it as "slightly better than FO3/NV."
Not that that would kill the game for me though. The rest of it looks like it has the potential to be really solid.
