The context of this thread is watching a beloved institution and the denizens that comprised it on both sides of the aisle transform into a biblically mediocre 'follow the trend' product mill. The context is watching the managing vanguard responsible for protecting both assets and the people producing them from predation quite literally and actually take the money and run, and then having to maintain 'it'll be fine' relationships while the new parent company rode roughshod over any grain of exploitable material with utter impunity so hard you could hear the dryhumping and mouthbreathing noises from space. The context is a house responsible for crafting new places and interesting faces being forced to shit out a 6 year cycle game in two and a half, and then defend it from the inevitable and entirely warranted shitstorm on not one but three separate occasions across two franchises. The context is watching sane and rational people drink the imported corporate marketing koolaid so hard so hard they quite literally lost their goddamn minds in public and on camera to such an extent that Progressive Developer Central couldn't deal with their polarized bullshit anymore and urged them to find gainful employment elsewhere. The context is observing a corporate parent shred an mp team that literally saved a franchise from mediocrity to make a further installment based solely on marketing surveys and marketing trends and install people that had no business shaping a franchise as the defacto Idea Persons. Those are factual occurrences, not opinions, and that's how I tend to formulate my opinions around objects and subjects, and if something sounds negative, maybe that's because it simply is.

Everyones quick to believe because it's EA which is notoriously anti-consumer but this really doesn't seem like their MO. EA will release a statement, nobody will believe it and it'll be forgotten about when whatever catastrophe happens next week.

Honestly if this was a publicity stunt, then holy shit EA that's some 5 million IQ shit as all the outrage youtubers will eat this up and give Anthem free publicity because I sure as hell have completely forgotten that it existed since last year.

I reckon they just had anthem on origin, and this was the only game removed, hence the library being empty. We have no idea what they had in the account prior to this, and as the breakdown video explained, all other games icons are for other launchers.
