Fucking finally
Take em down.
Eat shit, Pai
Ofc there fucking were crimes commited
So I'm curious, why has this taken so long to get to?
That's not the proper conclusion to draw from a criminal investigation being opened.
Bureaucracy. I'm sure it got attention fairly shortly after or maybe even during.
Except IIRC, people knew there were bots making arguments against net neutrality.
It was pretty obvious when there were comments from Barrack Obama, Adolf Hitler, and yourself against Net Neutrality.
True, but are these bots actually illegal? Is their usage really something one can be prosecuted for, legally speaking? And more importantly, would a criminal prosecution change anything about the ruling by the FCC?
I'd say fraudulently impersonating other/real people for political gain is illegal, yeah.
That’s what the investigation aims to find out I guess.
Jfc that makes two fbi investigations involving net Neutrality, some shady corrupt shit behind this business.
Impersonation is a crime so whoever's responsible for the bots would be facing potential identity theft charges at least. The FCC blatantly lying about the comments being botted on the other hand is iffier. I don't know if it's illegal but it's a clear violation of their responsibilities so at the very least their jobs should be in trouble.
I'd say no because it seems like the world currently runs at no fucks given peak power on blood money.
