• Chinese Gov't online ethics committee issues warnings/bans to 20 games

Funny that China of all places is complaining about "morals" and "ethics" when I'm pretty sure those concepts have been extinct there since the fucking cultural revolution.
What's the Chinese translation for Winnie the Pooh?
And then get banned for "exclusionary or antisocial behavior".
What does this mean for the Chinese OWL teams?
So basically what they are asking is: -No blood -No skull -No tits -No chatroom -Communist values (ironic) -Remember, we are the one who is in charge here. Sound reasonable for a few billion potential revenue.
Tencent has a stake in Epic Games, but they don't have anything close to a controlling stake.

Real talk, but has this actually been proven to happen when you do this?
Well appealing to chinese market and appealing to chinese "values" are completely different things, but both are full of crap so screw both ActiBlizzard and Chinese government
Basically what's happening is the Chinese government is trying to screw over foreign businesses because those games have become major hits in the Chinese market instead of the homegrown knockoffs. I sound like a broken record at this point because I mention it every time that China does this, and they do it constantly with foreign tech and software companies, everyone short of the biggest giants like Apple and Actibliz have been completely forced out of the Chinese market because of these practices.
Actually no clue
This is honestly bordering on racism.
Its the unfortunate truth that the Chinese market is not its government, its their people. The film industry is already succumbing to the governments wishes because of the peoples purchasing power. Its not the peoples fault but where the Chinese gather, ethier in videogames or film, their influence is too strong as we can't out-populate them in anyway. Overtime their reach will spread and it'll be too late. Six Siege was about to censor itself for the sake of the money it would produce, Fortnite and PUBG have now been scorned by the governments hand. What is there to lose to these companies if they just change their games/films to get access to a gigantic market?
