15-year-old addresses world leaders on climate: "You are stealing our future."

Holy fuck dude, you left a link and said absolutely nothing about the point you were trying to make. What did you think was going to happen? People aren't mind readers. Learn how to communicate your argument.
Oh? You weren't? At which point did you explain otherwise?
What exactly are teenagers supposed to do about being given participation trophies, raise a huge stink and look like assholes?
I'm worried that might be a bit complicated for you. You should start with finger paints first, but make sure not to lick your fingers!
My questions weren't rhetorical in case you didn't realize. You explained the point you were trying to make after posting a seemingly random link. The reason I asked those questions was to hopefully help you realize that it's significantly less confusing to explain why you're posting a link than to just post it and leave it at that. As you witnessed first hand, people jumped to conclusions (rightfully so) and then you failed to comprehend why people were jumping to conclusions in the first place. They jumped to conclusions because you didn't make any conclusions in the first place!
Regarding your reasoning I'd say that it'd make sense if those soldiers following the orders were children. These are two very uniquely distinct things you're trying compare. On the one hand you have adults (i.e. parents) handing out participation trophies to children, on the other hand you have grown adult soldiers following the orders of their grown adult commanders. I don't think your comparison is valid in this discussion.
Just a lil' heads up, I'm leaving to play games with friends so I probably won't be replying anymore tonight.
How the fuck are the kids at fault for getting the award then, what point are you even trying to make?
Can we take a break from all this talk about participation trophies to ask if anyone's ever seen a participation trophy? Because I sure haven't.
What do you think people are saying?
the kids aren't the ones giving them out what the fuck are you going on about
You jumped out of the gate immediately shitting on people and pushing stereotypes hard.
For what? To act dismissive of a body of scientific work detailing a problem that demands concerted global action to countermand? What is your goal here in making these posts?
You rambling about LGBT issues, avocados, trophies, and nazis here doesn't come off as intelligent. It doesn't come off as witty. It indicates a lack of capacity to process, distill, and encode core information with social context and contribute to a conversation in a meaningful way. For all your posturing about implied "experience", you sure don't seem capable of getting your point across in an intelligent way, let along in a way that isn't alienating.
And how do children decide that for themselves?
You say say I didn’t say anything valid to you but I asked you logical questions that you ignored to continue pounding on about your ideological nonsense.
It's almost like adults have more developed brains (something backed up by research, which you have failed to provide any for any piece of crap you have spewed out) and are capable of knowing all the benefits and consequences of a action as well as having full mobility to choose as they wish!
This thread is like a metaphor of why we suck at solving climate change. People would much rather fight over other unrelated and unimportant bullshit.
A sad thing is, if the movement to end gun violence and school shootings was any indication, this poor kid is probably going to be painted as a terrorist or something by people who know she is right. All because her being right could hurt their income if acted on.
It's made even more asinine by the fact that nobody who ever got one, wanted one. I was 4 when I got one and told my mother it was dumb then, and she couldn't convince me otherwise. That was 1995, and 23 years later I still think it's dumb.
Not a terrorist, just a know-nothing youngster overcome with radical influences.
And also ignore the completely obvious by putting out meaningless non sequiturs.
"The planet is warming." "But snow still exists!"
"We're at record amounts of CO2 for the past million years." "But volcanoes put out more CO2 than a car does."
"97% of climate related scientists and studies agree." "But scientists get PAID to do their jobs, don't they? What a conflict of interest!"
"Kids don't choose to get participation trophies." "Yeah well nazis said they were just following orders. Those kids should take responsibility for adults giving them things."
and most are clinging to ideologies of a society that doesn't exist anymore.
Alas, he has me beat in having terrible sentence structure.
Your fucking infantile image of a smartphone-chugging prosperous teenager being the average is just exactly that, a fucking illusion, pal. Almost every 'zoomer' in the real world is exactly like those before them -- struggling to stay afloat, be respected as human beings, and make just barely enough money to survive on what is usually the absolute minimum in a world that actively hates them and considers them 'lazy' just for existing. I'd love to see your birth certificate, and, similarly, see your Not A Zoomer pass that puts you in a position not to say all this wee-wah "modern peoples is bads! smartphones dividides us!!! LGBT bad!! too big!!" garbage without coating yourself in shit.
Your post is just a rambling ball of incoherence that effectively screams "I am too much of a pussy to consider any issue whatsoever, and therefore I consider anyone that actually has passion about anything a Zoomer Turd, because it's easier for me to use the same language my daddy and mommy are using to slate the generation than it is for me to form a single coherent thought of my own, because the idea of speaking out or looking different from the crowd in any way scares me because I lack a single form of vertebrae."
What a joke of a post.
You know I have a theory that the stuff that people hate about others has a lot to do with what they hate about themselves and man did Malphas prove me right
Taken?
I say changed, manipulated instead.
If her future was actually stolen, doubtful that she'd even be present to say
Uh, you do realize that the future is kinda just that, the future, right? By doing nothing about global warming these shit stains are stealing the futures of millions, if not billions, of people out of sheer greed and lack of foresight or empathy because many of these people are going to die from famine brought about by global warming and most of the rest are going to suffer greatly even if they survive.
Fuckin this. I remember being part of competitions, and when I saw a whole fucking table full of trophies for EVERYONE I was like "these might as well be fucking party favors. what's the fucking point? i don't feel special if everyone has one"
Why even go after specific shit in Malphas' posts? His obnoxious, condescending complaining about this new generation of people like he's a fucking ignorant grandpa is complete bollocks to begin with. Every generation complains about the next and the one before it. Every coming generation is at its core no different from the previous one. Generations are a construct, period.
its just completely meaningless, abstract nonsense that a grandpa could've told me while waiting at a busstop
Populist in my experience is a word used to dismiss Bernie Sanders or equate him with Trump and I'm somewhat sure you didn't mean that so I'll choose to read this as:
"The sad part is that enacting significant enviromentalist policies will lead to reactionaries gaining power."
This depends entirely on what's proposed or enacted. Macron was bleeding the working class while continuing tax breaks for the rich. If he went after the rich instead he'd not have had a reaction like happened in France with the gilets jaunes.
OLD THING GOOD
NEW THING BAD
Where did I put that caveman picture.
ur so insightful
This should be grounds for ripping them from their seats of power
