Rocket launcher turned in at Baltimore gun buyback program

A little bit more reading for those interested.
The official policy from Saab (yes, they're who makes these) is that AT4 tubes cannot be reloaded. Unlike other disposable rocket tubes these are made of fiberglass plastic rather than steel, as such the manufacturer considers them incapable of withstanding the stress of multiple firings.
So, is it normal to find these lying around or what?
When I look at the HL2 RPG I can't help but think they slapped a grenade launcher underneath it

This is true for all man-portable recoilless rifles IIRC, especially the RPG-7. I've heard some hilarious stories about the RPG-7. In my ARMA campaign I was the RPG humper and everyone would clear the fuck away from me because I would fire off without yelling for a backblast
clear.
look online and disposable tube launchers like LAW, RPG-26, and AT4 are like 300-500 USD, or at least they used to. I remember authenthic WW2 bazookas were going as low as 400 when I was a kid, shame I didn't have any money to buy one then.
It's actually harder to find LAW tubes because of the radioactive isotopes used in their sights than it is because of their former nature as anti-tank weapons, funnily enough. Soldiers were trained to snap off their sights and hand them over for radiological disposal because the sight was lit via an isotope that glowed in the dark (I want to say Tritium but not sure) and it had to be gotten rid of via hazchem. The LAW tube itself was similarly treated of as a hazchem item for the same reason-- it had been exposed to an isotope over a longer-than-average period.
lmao, was looking where you can buy an inert one and found this

Make a bong out of it
"you sure you dont wanna hit this dude? i swear its not gunna blow up"
stick a nerf in it. whip it out at parties and go pew pew.
That would be its predecessor:

Isn't the shotgun also based on a nerf/toy gun? Or is that the duke 3d one
I'm aware the tubes are disposable but are the materials recycled in any form?
HEAT pen is about 400mm RHA so it's a bit more than your average 76mm Sherman
Oh shit, I know this, it was in Far Cry 2, the weapon you bought when you were basically upgrading your RPG-7
Sounds about in line with what I've heard. In Vietnam whenever a bazooka team showed up pretty much everyone started running because none of the VC wanted to be on the receiving end, and none of the Arvins wanted to be anywhere near either the backblast or the resultant forest fire.
The Carl Gustaf being called a rocket launcher hurts my soul.
Enjoy your $100-$200 gift card to Ralph's
Probably tritium, British Army had a thing for tritium sights win the 80s. Funny thing is it's not actually that hazardous, fairly common material in watches and emergency lights; it's really only harmful if ingested in large quantities, but because it is radioactive and used in nuclear weapons, it's treated very seriously. I remember hearing a story from a guy who accidentally ejected the tritium tube on his rifle scope, it shattered and they went into full radiation lockdown.
Yeah but this was in a game, you can't really call it a Recoilless Rifle without people getting confused, you call it a Rocket Launcher and people are immediately going to know what it does, it launches explosive shit at people, a Recoilless Rifle makes it sound like a Sniper Rifle or some shit to people who don't really know this stuff.
Ayyyyy RPG Squad what up

they still make carl gustaf's though but they're a totally different application where you might want to fire more than 1 rocket.
The thing with the CG is that they don't need to update it very often, they just update the warhead to keep it relevant.
Yup!

Shotgun, BFG (backwards), Chaingun and Plasma Gun (backwards)
Video games get the mechanics of recoilless rifles wrong too. RPGs and rocket launchers aren't ballistic, recoilless rifles are. I'm looking at you, Peace Walker.
