Toblerone's halal certification outrages the far right

It isn't really that different from regular slaughter. It isn't stun-free, you'd know that if you read the links you post. Just to quote from your wikipedia "source" "The UK Food Standards Agency figures from 2011 suggest that 84% of cattle, 81% of sheep and 88% of chickens slaughtered for halal meat were stunned before they died."
Regular animals are also killed by exsanguination, so what's the difference?
Wikipedia is "source" now?
We're not talking about the UK specifically, we're talking about halal in general. I have already stated I don't have a problem with it when it observes animal welfare standards. That is not the case in every country.
Yeah, we may as well give them guns and refuel their fighter jets for free. Oh wait...
It isn't a source on it's own. That's why it has it's own sources at the bottom of the page. Mentioning wikipedia as your source is as lazy as mentioning google as one.
Regardless of your sources, your post was factually incorrect. You said halal meat is stun-free, which is wrong. And because it supposedly is stun-free, it violates the standards of a UK animal welfare organization. That kinda implicates you're talking about the UK specifically.
You're not addressing any of my points. What is the difference between halal and regular meat? Both animals are stunned and both are killed in the same way.
What animals are slaughtered to make chocolate?
Yeah Muslims recognize Jesus as a prophet, just not "GOD/THE SON OF GOD" etc
because they don't bomb and behead cunts
You... You're the one that posted it. It's your source.
The majority of muslims don't do that, just like the majority of christians don't bomb abortion clinics or beat gays to death.
Maybe read up on the history of the kkk, or anti-abortion murderers who killed doctors and bombrd clinics, or the several Christian african groups that killed a ton of Muslims, or even about Anders Brevik, or the guy who killed John fucking Lennon. Im sure theres a shit ton more you could find if you tried even a tiny bit.
Contemporary Christianity is not bloodless, and it never has been.
what a way to end 2018.. to come out of the closet like this
It's been 24 hours.
Unfortunately, the certification costs money, which companies then put onto the consumer, and questions have already been raised about where the money goes.
Had to discuss with other mods first. We came to an agreement.
I have seen the certification cost range from 100 to 3000 dollars, so if those numbers are correct nothing in the price will change because of it. About the terrorism scare of the funds, from 2015: Fact check (Focus on Australia)
my god, you're right; the cost of the certification will likely be paid for and then some by the increased income resulting from the widened consumer base. good job boilrig, i'm proud of you!
He read far enough into his economic textbook to the part about cost management
To be honest, you're not really widening the consumer base by using halal meat. When we started using halal meat at my work to make minced meat, the price stayed the same, and it actually sold worse. All because it was labeled halal. The meat itself was much better quality, yet mentioning halal scares consumers for some reason.
I take it you've never been to Srebrenica?
Who would have thought a Toblerone thread would turn into an idiot cull
so where were you when people talked about the costs of the brexit bill but you care so much about the price of halal certifications?
Please, tell us some more about how much you really care
Yeah the Oklahoma bombing sure didn't happen by a deranged christian lunatic, no siree.
No christians ever murdered abortion doctors out of cold blood, no siree.
Stop being so god damn ignorant lebo.
I can't see any motive stating it was a religious attack
You mean the guys who cited a government shutdown of “the branch of Dravidian” weren’t religiously motivated?
Spend like, 10 seconds googling something next time, eh?
therefore halal certification is to blame
There's nothing wrong with Toblerone certifying their product as safe to eat for a certain religion, but there's also nothing wrong with refusing to do business with a company that associates itself with a particular religion.
People are able to make their own decisions. Religion is a choice. So is whether or not you buy Toblerone. Both decisions are the prerogative of the individual.
I notice you're still ignoring the Bosnian war.
i feel so enlightened, thanks
(people are also free to question and discuss the merits of those decisions)
Getting mad at people for not buying candy bars makes you look like boomers blaming millennials for "killing industries"
doing a strawman isn't any more productive to conversation than your big-brain-centrist post on the last page
