A bad tragedy is a comedy, A bad comedy is a tragedy.
I knew this movie was going to be an pile of absolute shit when YouTube kept shoving that obnoxious as hell advert for it where they're just screaming backwards and forwards for like 10 seconds. Fuck that ad and fuck this film just for that.
Step Brothers was funny because Adam McKay(who is a producer on this) and these 2 having fresh back and forth. The only other film this guy directed was Get Hard, another Will Ferrell film that flew under the radar with Kevin Hart (Can someone please explain the appeal of Kevin Hart to me?) Go watch the superior John C Reilly film, Stan and Ollie if you need some more John C. Reilly.
Kevin hart is only ever funny with the rock
Another curiosity: The trailer is uploaded as a 21:9 video with letterboxing (so 16:9). Which means that playing on a true 21:9 display, it's gonna show up with both letter and pillarboxes. Brilliant. Is this normal for trailers on YouTube?
Ah, so they decided to use the Food Fight production method.
The script was apparently written back in ‘08. Who made the call to go ahead with production now? It’s so weird.
Letter/pillarboxing is super common on YouTube and always gets on my tits cus YouTube will deal with it intelligently if you just upload it in the native aspect ratio
the only people who would find this movie funny would be the same kinds of people who found a million ways to die in the west funny
This trailer doesn't do it any justice, that's for sure. I'm pretty sure that BBC's Sherlock fills the parody role anyway. It started semi-serious and then it degenerated season-by-season until it was a flanderised piss-take of its own writing staff
The show was 100% serious and not ironic, makes it worse
Series 4 of Sherlock is so bad it's borderline unwatchable.
