Vape store gets review bombed after employee yells at Trump supporter

You definitely don't refuse service because of the beliefs of a customer. If you get that upset by someone displaying an opinion you disagree with, then you should not be working in retail or sales because you will always come across those people.
I once had a customer who would not shut up about how much he supports Trump, how he's "speaking the truth" and got banned from Facebook because of it, some crazy government conspiracies, and how he's "not racist" despite his business apparently being review bombed (funnily enough) due to accusations of racism and being a Trump supporter. He also found the need to bring up how he's "not racist" to another one of our co-workers who's black.
In both situations, we just let him ramble his nonsense, because if for any reason he gets pissed off and starts a scene, the responsibility for that would've fallen on us and we would'be been the ones who got in trouble and possibly fired. So, if a customer is actively displaying views you disagree with, at the very least, you let them do it and then maybe have a laugh about it later.
It's not that you don't have the right to refuse service, you most certainly do. However, you should only refuse service if the customer is directly insulting you or others with no prior reason, or is being a direct threat to you or others.
Imagine getting this upset over a shirt
Since when did Yelp become incredibly unpopular and ancient technology?
2011
what's the hip way to search for local businesses now?
uhh probably google? I know that's what I do, at least
flat earthers on the internet ALWAYS claim it's a joke or they're just doing it to flex their debate skills if they get cornered about it
you look it up on google maps or whatever iphone has these days and drive directly to it, ignoring reviews entirely until something happens that makes you mad enough that you want to leave an angry review
Flat earthers should be put on a boat and sent off the edge of the earth.
Maybe if they're having issues getting cornered they should consider giving up the flat Earth crap since globes don't have corners.
What, no
What sort of people have you been debating?
The ones I find are always set on taking their belief to the grave.
There's no such thing as being cornered when you don't adhere to any rules of debate in the first place.
the two political spheres that dominate this country are essentially diametrically opposed on almost every issue and each side hates the other. the divide being more obvious by way of social media and the internet has only deepened the divide. people already see their countryman as the enemy, we've already had people fighting in the streets. i would say we're already in a cold civil war, and going hot seems less and less unlikely every day.
Employee was a retard but Trump guy could've walked like, 100 feet to another vape shop
why should he
Because honestly, if someone was being that much of a dick to me, I'd take my money elsewhere.
Why would you demand to be able to give money to someone who clearly doesn't want it?
If I was being treated like that I wouldn't give them my business.
But you're still entitled to it if you choose to buy something.
Entitled or not, I'd go somewhere the fuck else. That's far more damaging than causing a scene or demanding a manager, telling a business "well if you don't want my money then you won't have it, good day".
Okay but in what way is what you would do relevant when this didn't happen to you
Unless you're trying to say he did the wrong thing by demanding they do what they're obligated to do.
Stores are not obligated to provide a service, or if they are, then explain the guy who was supported when he banned Muslims from his gun shop, or the bakery that refused to bake a cake for a gay wedding, also supported.
If you walk into a store wearing a shirt with a penis on it, the store may rightfully ask you to leave without service, yes?
The store fired him.
Seems he was obligated, no?
Given that he was fired for failing to meet his obligations.
The store fired him because he exploded on a customer. That will get you fired literally anywhere, for any reason.
Believe it or not, a store is not obligated to sell you shit.
so do you think the store is obligated to sell to him or the employee is obligated to sell to him? just want some clarification.
The fact that someone can be banned from a store automatically means a store isn't required to sell product to anyone who walks through the door. You can't discriminate based on protected classes, - race, religion, etc. - but you can absolutely tell an individual they aren't going to be sold a product.
ok but i asked "why should he" not "why would he". if it was a guy wearing a sanders shirt getting bullied out of a store i doubt you would go "yeah but he could have just left lmao"
Man this guy's great (recorder)
love the other dude waiting in line too
Yes.
The employee is obligated to sell to him as part of the contract he has with the store, since the store did not decide to be selective in who they sell to. The employee failed to meet this obligation, and while doing so disgraced the store, meaning he was being a poor representative of the business, so the store fired the employee for violating his employment contract.
Wow, this guy is every kind of screwed. International news at this point. Turns out I'm just one degree removed from kevin bacon in this case, several friends of mine went to school with this dude. He says he's not proud of what he did, but he does need to learn "not to let the nazis get to me"
The guy was acting like a complete idiot tbh.
My mate works in a vape store/cafe, and we see some proper political crazies come in there to chat shit.
You don't even need to ignore them or pretend to agree, you can have full on political debates in store if that's what the customer is trying to do- just don't lose your cool like a fucking numpty.
I've seen my mate have conversations with people who believe labour politicians are literally demonic infiltrators from hell, and yet the dude in the video can't deal with a bad politician on his T-shirt. Needs to grow up tbh.
