not sure if its the same anywhere else but its pretty much frowned upon to bring politics into day to day conversations with strangers
My workplace pretty much says don't bother talking about politics with customers incase of this happening, just be fucking professional, if they have views that differ from yours, leave it that, ignore it or just sarcastically agree with them. Theres no point losing your job over a stupid argument.
in the first case though I can slightly agree, if your a gun shop owner and your customer has some strange opinions that he wishes to express whilst purchasing a firearm, thats a bit of a red alarm in that case. Difference between buying a vape and buying a fucking gun.
He doesn't have to, but if he preferred to avoid conflict like I do, that's what he could have done
i once had a dude working the counter at a vape shop sincerely try to convince me that bleaching/dyeing my hair would make me stupid because the unnatural chemicals would "seep through my skull into my brain membrane"
