What do you want him to do? Change his jokes? Do you want him to start every act with a long apology?
If you actually watched the video you'd understand that it's not a rant about "those damn SJWs ruining comedy". The argument he's making is that comedy comes with certain context, so getting angry at a joke for being outrageous is kind of like getting angry at water for being wet. That's what it is, that's the conceit. It's stupid to look at a comedian on-stage in a comedy club and say "hey, he's saying some pretty ridiculous things". If Louis went on CNN and made these same points about how kids these days have made-up genders, the context would be totally different. It's the difference between someone like John Mulaney doing an entire bit about the n-word and someone like Roseanne Barr calling a person of color an ape on Twitter. He's built his entire career around saying awful, absurdist shit for laughs, so what makes this any different? It was fine then, so why isn't it fine now? If it's because we still don't like him because of the scandal, then that's a perfectly acceptable reason to not like what he's doing. But call it what it is. It's not an issue because "these jokes are offensive and comedians shouldn't make those kinds of jokes", it's an issue because he did a fucked up thing and tried to make a comeback too soon.
I'm gonna be honest, I might have found this funny if I was in the actual comedy club, simply from the shock of it. It's taboo and edgy. Everyone around me is laughing, so I'd probably laugh. But if I was at home watching a Netflix digital copy of his performance I wouldn't find it that funny, unless it played into an earlier bit. Like, if he said something that directly contradicted his behavior in a skit before, then said all this, I'd laugh my ass off because the juxtaposition is funny. Otherwise, it's just low grade schlock humor that is only funny when you're in person because of the visceral reaction from a crowd. He might have had a joke there if it was crafted better and presented a different message than "boo-hoo your friends are dead why should I listen to you nyeh" or "nyeh genders amirite?" which is just stupid. Comedy can get you to think about events and ideas in absurd yet cohesive ways and that generates a laugh from the absurdity. Does he believe this shit? In my opinion, probably not. I mean, do you think he'd actually call his toddler daughter a cunt like in one of his routines? No way. He might be ignorant about it, or he might be making shit up for humor. Yes, he could be serious, yet based on his previous skits I don't think so. I think unless we get an actual statement (not from an unverified Twitter of all places) I'm gonna assume he was testing out offensive jokes in a nightclub like he's done before and it went well in the club but not on screen.
The difference is that no one actually thinks that we should let kids with peanut allergies just die. That's why it's funny, it's a ridiculously absurd opinion he's pretending to argue for. There's a difference between that and going after gender nonbinary individuals which face more prejudice and less acceptance than pretty much any other LGBT+ group.
I never liked louis ck but this is retarded what exactly do you want him to do? Whip himself publicly? Cry on national television? Not have a career? He admitted to the incident and apologized. Exactly what sort of display do you expect and how long is the acceptable time frame before he can return to doing his profession?

The problem is how there's so little actual "joke" that it comes off more like an attempt at observational humor than a shock humor joke. Like you could argue the bit about pushing a fat kid in front of the shooter is shock humor, but the rest is just just comes off as some bizzare "am I right?" comedy.
I'm honestly curious as to what crazy shit kids in Louis CK's days did that kids today don't. I'm pretty much just paraphrasing that rant someone posted earlier but kids today are fuckin nuts.
Yeah, I don't think I ever saw Louis C.K. eat laundry detergent, although I'm sure there's people who want him to now.
Mushrooms are grandpa shit, everybody I know does drugs only referred to by acronyms like six letters long
What? The thing he was doing wrong was the sexual misconduct. There was literally nothing wrong with his comedy.
I feel like that whole rant was kinda self-defeating though, with its whole "HAH, YOU THINK YOU'RE A FREAK WITH HOW YOU SEXUALLY ASSAULTED ALL THOSE WOMEN? THAT'S VANILLA SHIT FOR THESE KIDS, THEY DO SO MUCH FUCKED UP STUFF, ALL WHILE HIGH ON HARD DRUGS. THEIR ENTIRE IDENTITY (as far as I'm concerned) IS GETTING HIGH AND GETTING STRANGERS TO PUT THINGS IN THEIR ASS, AND THAT'S BEAUTIFUL" thing. Like, that's the kinda shit conservative pearl-clutchers were saying about the queer community just a few years ago. You had activists fighting so that they would be seen as normal people who just happen to have different tastes, combating the narrative that queer people are hedonistic drug-crazed perverts, and now it's 2019 and we have self-described allies trying to argue the opposite. I dunno, part of it feels like someone fetishizing a marginalized group to feel like a big important activist. It feels exploitative and gross and it just left a bad taste in my mouth.
I don't know about "kids these days", but 10-15 years ago when I was a teenager, I was doing hard drugs, psychadelics, fucking, and nearly dying from the stupid shit I was routinely getting myself into so I can at least identify with what he's saying about kids, cause it doesn't seem too far fetched from what I experienced in a pretty milquetoast part of the world.
That's not what he said at all? They said they didn't feel the video added anything to the discussion, which seems fair to me given that the it's essentially a point that has been brought up and refuted in this very thread and in the post you are responding to. It's pretty apparent they watched the videos contents, does it not count unless they concede the point? Remind me who exactly is more interested in having lectures than conversations again?
That's what a lot of people want. There's a disturbing trend recently of people finding something offensive and wanting the person who offended them to stop existing. When JonTron made a fool of himself there were people who bitched about him still making youtube videos saying "He hasn't even changed his views", the ones which were poorly explained because Jon can not handle pressure at the best of times. For a lot of people apologising for doing or saying something inappropriate isn't enough, you have to change your entire world view to match theirs or you're irredeemable. That said Louis is being a bit of a twat and he's coming across as petty and bitter from his tweets (assuming that's actually him).
I don't think JonTron is really a great example considering that to the best of my knowledge Jon has in fact never actually apologized for any of the things he said or conceded that they were, in fact, false, the closest he ever did was making a video in which he simply apologized for saying those things where everyone could hear them and basically saying "I'm sorry you got offended by the hard truth." He never admitted that anything he said was wrong, he just made excuses for how he was saying "the truth" poorly.
Hey, I just want people to be smart about it. The peanut routine is great https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEb5a-I0kyg It's funny as shit. And I agree, you can say terrible things, and make a good joke out of it if you have the finesse. This is a really poor example of your point though, since the entire setup is that this is a horrible thing to say and think. Not every good, but politically incorrect joke needs these disclaimers, but the allergy one happens to have them, and it leaves little doubt in the audience's mind that Louie doesn't actually think the sensible thing to do is peanut genocide. The parkland bit on the other hand, has none. That, together with the lack of self-awareness, style of delivery, and more similarity with Louie's real, but humorous arguments than his absurd, but unserious points, make me think he was just being a genuine asshole, and thought he had a real "untold truth". But that's my personal take, if you don't agree that's fine. Disagreement is a lot better than dismissal, saying "nothing is taboo" but going "just joke!!!!" like it's taboo is a real strange hypocrisy, so thanks for not going there. And yes lol text can destroy a stand-up routine, I think it was Jim Jefferies I last saw quoting one of his jokes in a monotone voice, and it made him sound like a psychopath, but I think CK's delivery does more to hurt him than help him in this case
