They just turn the fuel pump up on their trucks to dump extra fuel into the cylinders and make it have a rich air fuel mixture, what you are seeing is unburnt diesel fuel.
It's basically a fad for a bunch of teenagers or children trapped in adult bodies who want to mimic what is done on the track without really understanding why (the smog) happens.
Almost every single truck I've seen with this setup does it so they can smoke people out, they think it is funny to send fumes onto people or into their cars. They're fucking jackasses and I basically live in the country.
Like I really don't care what you drive or what you do to it. Being someone who had a truck (Downsized), they're a lot of fun and you can really do a lot of customizations to it. Just don't be a fucking jackass about it.
The penalties for improperly parking in a charging bay really need to be increased. Most of the time nothing will happen. Over here in the UK I encounter people parking in charging bays all the time, especially if the chargers are near the entrance. Almost every road trip I go on in my Leaf at least one charger will have an ICE in a charging bay, or an EV belonging to a rental company or company car that's in the charging bay but not plugged in. When you confront people about it the general excuse is "yeah but I'll only be 10 mins", and they never get fined for it since the service stations ANPR cameras are all setup to fine you based on if you stay to long and have no concept of where you parked.
