Pretty sure it's a stretch to say they actually value privacy
They have repeatedly fought the US government and the FBI over their encryption, as in over the course of years now. The feds wanted them to give them a way to get into any device, and Apple has repeatedly fought them.
It is
Disingenuous/ignorant
to state otherwise
Although it appears that the FBI may have found a workaround anyway, or in other instances found a way in regardless, Apple has never bent the knee to any demands from the feds. They do value their customers privacy whether you like them as a company or not.
Don't worry, Apple still has devoted cultists in Russia who'd pay thousands of dollars for a place in the line for new iPhone. No, I'm not joking.
Weird, they seem to give everything to the Chinese to stick in their market.
That's not why Apple is having issues whatsoever
Always loved Apple products, always hated Apple as a company. Hard relationship to have, but hopefully this can be the seed for change that they need to stop milking customers for every penny.
Microsoft has caught on too and is expanding the surface line products and added features such as Linux Subsystems
All they need to do is refresh the cheese grater for developers, not everything needs to reinvent the wheel. I retrofitted all of the eldible cheesegraters at my work with the highest end hardware just to hold out for a good Mac Pro
