They should just drop Destiny and make a new narrative driven IP.
Hopefully this means they'll get better writers on board, Forsaken sucked.
nah they should definitely stay in the destiny universe because it's unique and has an incredible art style, but ditch the whole half-assed mmo thing and make an actual story-driven game instead of a grind.
At this point blizzard isn't part of Activision, they ARE activision.
Plus Marathon, Myth, and Abuse.
Well Marathon is free to play and open source just look up AlephOne; so I dont think GoG will bring it to their store.
What didn’t you like about Forsaken? I thought it was a great expansion. The recent reveal with who could be the next potential Hunter Vanguard leader was pretty well done and unexpected imo
I remember reading an article, it was from the perspective of one of the Microsoft execs handling Bungie. They were there the day Bungie announced to its employees they were officially independent.
It mirrors the reports of this independence announcement, the employees all cheered, however the Microsoft executive noted that there was a concerning silence afterward, like nobody knew what this really meant for the company. The exec talked with (I forget who) one of the heads of Bungie, and wished them luck, and that this was really the right decision for the company.
I wish I could find that article again, since I think it shines huge context on what's happening now.
Part of the reason why they had to make a deal with a publisher like Activision was to get funding for their next project, Destiny, since Microsoft retained the rights to Halo. It's different this time, since Bungie not only has owns Destiny outright, they've got two full years worth of extra content planned out for Destiny 2, a third game just beginning development and another franchise in the works. They're in a far better position this time even with D2's rocky history, and they've gained yet another 'final chance' to prove themselves now that Activision is gone. Maybe they will find a new publisher eventually, but I don't think it's too likely at the moment.
