• Metro Exodus will be Epic Store Exclusive, Steam Preorders will still be honored

Reminds me of the butcher cover in a weird way.
As if that stopped companies doing it though. When GDPR came into effect and said that users must give explicit consent for terms of use over half the websites that 'updated' their policies had "By using this website you agree to our terms of use." Which is missing the entire point of GDPR, and also now illegal.
There are tons of sites that do this regardless. I always uncheck them and its very much a bother. Some sites, like newegg, take several days to a week for unsub to go through
You might wanna read up on Koch media.
Sucks they decided to do this, because the game is really good. I'm glad I picked it up on Steam before they pulled it. Game feels like a successor to Stalker almost with how much more open it is than previous installment.
Game is really good guys, sadly it feels like a great end to the series, but who knows if they'll keep going guess it depends if more books come out.
Ngl, Metro Exodus actually sells its ray tracing tech HARD. Like the difference is staggering in a good way. If NVIDIA had launched their RTX GPUs with this game in tow instead of BFV's "LOOK AT OUR REFLECTIONS THAT TANK YOUR FRAMERATE IN HALF", then RTX wouldn't be regarded as a joke like it is nowadays usually. Too bad NVIDIA is overpricing their GPUs to hell though. Still, doesn't deny that Metro is a damn fine looking game with some awesome tech behind it.
Their PEGI rating changed so they had to change it. Even though it is self regulating like the ESRB, stores would be reluctant to sell games that are incorrectly rated (think of the children etc.). If a software distribution store changed, stores would not give a fuck and sell it anyways. Not their problem and they will just point to the manufacturer. They will also gladly sell online games that you can no longer play too. Completely different situations, but I am sure Epic paid a couple thousand to make it happen.
Apparently the Steam version isn't getting any patches? Steam is on 1.0.0.0 while Epic is on 1.0.1.0 (raytracing). Can anyone confirm this here?
Except you know, the problem is that the hidden one shows online but the sticker doesn't.
I'd like to think this is simply a timing thing and the patch will drop. But the whole situation is shitty so I don't know.
i think the steam version is already patched, cant say about raytracing/dlss but motion blur is adjustable and that was one of the patch features
Not in the US.
https://steamdb.info/app/412020/depots/?branch=nvidia_testing Internal builds are still being updated
I had some crashes and but bug that lost me 30 mins, but was quite fine most of the time.
My game crashed and corrupted my 25+ hour save file, had to start from the beginning. The game's great so i didn't mind, but i would still be cautious for now if ypu're thinking about buying the game
By golly I hope they fix it by next year.
If anything, I'd think if most PC gamers just didn't want to get the game on the Epic Store, those that had a console would probably just settle for the console version to get their fill. So if anything, I'd think lost Steam sales would probably translate over into a mix of Epic and console sales. I'll be getting the game on Epic relatively soon, because I already have the store installed. The more I look into the game, the more I want to play it, but that's just me. I'm a sucker for these types of games.
this only happens in marquee titles, week 1 is still the biggest indiciator for virtually any game.
I've beaten the game. I can send you my save file, which should allow you to load from the beginning of whatever chapter you like.
Thanks man, but i'm on PS4 and close to where I left off anyways.
How is this comparable to console exclusivity when there is no barrier of entry between Steam and Epic games, while there is a considerable one from the consumers point of view between platforms?
I think console exclusivity is my biggest gripe with gaming right now, doesn't feel good that I basically need to buy a ps4 for some of the biggest games of 2018.
Fucking hell epics store has awful download speeds, having to download 50gb at 300kbps is a joke
Worse part about epic launcher is I can't fucking see how long I've played a game, how do people launch a game launcher without this feature, defeats me.
surprise, it's pretty good
I tried buying Exodus on Epic Launcher, I was charged and received a receipt. Game did not show up on my client to install. Checked my account settings, says there was a purchase error, yet I was charged? Sent a support ticket, haven't gotten a response in 4 days and still waiting.
It's a really great game, I love standing by NPCs and listen to them chatter all day long, would've given it a 10/10 but one of the NPCs quoted the Star Wars sand meme word for word so now I'm gonna have to bring the score down to 9.
The only problem I have with this is there a lot of them were the characters can have looong ass pauses between sentences so half the time I think they've finished chewing my ear off and then as I'm walking away they continue right where they left off. Doesn't help that these convos can be quite long even for just random shit. But i can be impatient so it's more my problem then the games.
I think they just wanted to have constant chatter in the background, a lot of it is just useless chatter but it adds life to the train sections.
