Pretty fucking sad that we have people who do not think vaccinations are necessary or even believe in the conspiracy theories about them. It is to the point that we are having breakouts for things that have been nearly wiped out. What makes it worse is the people who believe in this shit have been vaccinated as children and are alive partly because of these vaccinations.
Thousands of children will die because morons fell for a scam to sell different vaccines.
Huh, so it wasn't just me. I've noticed this over the last few weeks.
I follow r/legaladvice and been seeing so many posts from kids asking how to get vaccinated lately.
Refusing to vaccinate is child abuse.
Its worse than child abuse, it's like trying to murder your children
It's awful that this is the state of our future when folks would rather attempt to push against things that have clearly helped save many others from near death experiences to almost wiping out any chances of it spreading to hurt others. I hope the best for these kids.
I propose an intermediate age of consent that deals with common medical procedures, enabling things like choosing to get vaccinated for one, and also NOT to get "serviced" by a doctor.
“Just the normal thing to do,” the father said of circumcision, according to the court files. http://peacefulanarchism.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Aztec-Human-Sacrifice-It-May-Not-Be-A-Perfect-System-1.jpg
I have a friend who's mom is anti-vax, anti-medicine, and a bunch of other things (frankly, I'm surprised she's not a flat earther), and because of it, my friend was incredibly sheltered to the point of not understanding most common pop culture things. Due to health problems she still lives with her parents in her mid-twenties. My friend is incredibly pro-vaccine and after getting put on an immunesupressant asked me how to get her flu shot without her mom finding out since her mom insists on being in the examination room. So, I had to tell her how to sneak around and get her flu shot. She managed to get the shot.
I frequent r/AskDocs and I've seen more than a couple of these posts (or very similar) in just a few months.
It is just a thing in the United States. Christians do it despite being told that only Jews have to do it. Non-Christians do it too in the US. It started in the 1890s because people wanted to stop masturbation,
If this is true you’re a hero.
I honestly wish it was a lie for internet points. My friend's mom is one of those stereotypical conservatives that you go "Oh, they can't possibly exist!". Oh, she exists alright and I frequently slam my face into my desk out of sheer frustration out of the things I hear. Her mom's solution to health issues is prayer, fad diets, and random herbal shit that ends up making my friend sick. It baffles and makes me so mad that her mother would rather risk her daughter's actual fucking health than realize that hey, maybe these medications the doctor prescribes might just help her kid. Friend ended up telling the nurse at one of her doctor visits, when her mom wasn't in the room, that she wanted the flu shot but that her mom was anti-vax. So, they worked with her and she was able to get her shot.
Hasn't stopped me one bit
Its almost like when its done at birth, your body adapts to the missing nerves, and more or less functions normally and still feels good because relatively speaking, you never knew any different. Weird how that works. So either people in the 1890s had no idea how nerves worked, or Kellogg was just an idiot with influence.
It's official, memes save lives.
Can we make it a law already which makes it so that refusing to vaccinate your kids without a good medical reason gives social services the authority to take away your kids?
The only thing circumcision does is make it harder to jack off without lube. Europeans and other non-Americans are typically shocked when they learn how much fucking lotion americans use.
Of course we all want what's best for our kids. But if being anti-vaxx is one of them, then you don't deserve to be a parent.
My parents did it because it makes it easier to clean down there and less prone to infections
This ain't a thread on circumcision so I don't want to divert too much, but as a rare unicorn that is an uncut Jew, you have no idea how deeply disgusting a person you would have to be for those to be realistic concerns
Unfortunately there isn't much concrete evidence backing this up.
"Easier to clean down there" as in you don't have to take a fraction of a second to pull your foreskin back before washing it "Less prone to infections" as in not having a body part means it can't develop problems but that doesn't mean we should just remove it. If you had a daughter, would you surgically remove her mammary glands as a baby to prevent her getting breast cancer when she gets older?
Just the World Health Organization and several studies. Can we please not turn this thread into another circumcision circlejerk when there's a serious matter already at hand? Also for plenty of vaccinations you don't necessarily need a full blown doctor's appointment, I get my flu shots through the pharmacy in the store I work at, in my case the company even foots the bill. Even if they have to pay for it themselves, it might be a lot easier for these kids to sneak a trip to Walgreens or Target than to meet their doctor in secret.
I had mine at 8, when a doctor recommended it to fix infections that, after that, never occurred. There are medical reasons why they happen.
Absolutely. But most anti-circumcision folks are against infant circumcision, when its done for almost no reason other than "its what your supposed to do".
Agreeing with you because that was the reason my parents did it. It wasn't correct reasoning, mind you. They were also under the impression it was healthier and "looked more attractive". Then again, I don't blame my parents because that's what they were told, and they didn't have reason to suspect what their doctor told them. Luckily, I don't seem to have any negative effects. I don't need lube for one thing, and I don't seem to have any erectile or pleasure issues. Still, I'll never know if I could have had it better.
