Why do they still use images of the one who hunts men for sport when talking about EA, didn't he leave the company?
A good reminder to continue voting with your wallet folks.
Fuck 'em, pretty sure they were the ones who first started the expansion pack/DLC bullshit going all the way back to the first Sims game
Get fucked Andrew Wilson. I was hoping the focus on lootboxes and microtransactions would eventually bite them in the ass.
I'm sure it won't deter them from pushing on with them more, I'm just glad they'refacing some consequences for their bullshit.
That's an understatement, he does worse things in hell.
This guy looks like he would actually do what happens in that episode of Black Mirror called USS Callister
Did you see that creepy ass video where he talked about your life being a video game?
My fucking god it's confirmed
This is the corporate version of cutting toxic people out of your life.
Must be part of the EA executive experience to say creepy shit.
The Conquest of Origin | The Firm | The Escapist
Why the holy-fire view of William M. Hawkins III, founder of Electronic Arts? Because (as this exec explained) EA meant to win in the computer game business not only by making good games, but by preventing competitors from making good games too - by actively interfering with their ability to do business. As one example, EA had filed a frivolous lawsuit against Origin. Forced into a costly out-of-court settlement, Origin execs asked Trip Hawkins why he had allowed the suit; he responded, "This is just business. This is the way we're going to win."
Reminder that DICE made the bad guy in Mirror's Edge Catalyst a caricature of Andrew Wilson as what I assume is a big middle finger.
I love how the article includes a live-feed on their stock rating, and it just gets worse
It's actually most of the industry's heavy hitters getting hit hard today: https://www.investing.com/news/stock-market-news/gaming-stocks-slammed-in-midday-trade-1771170
I hope the entire industry crashes. The current state of AAA gaming is an abomination.
And hopefully when it crashes it'll have the good sense to stay dead this time.
Some great AAA games released in the last few years. It's only a few companies, like EA, Capcom, Ubisoft, etc. that are fucking it up. I don't want a crash.
one time I said the AAA industry was going to crash like 2 years ago and i forgot about it but maybe I'll finally be right about something other than confirming my dick is still small
I cant wait I need my validation
Monkey Island Inflation
If videogames were dead you wouldn't be able to make this post on this forum.
I want ea to crash and burn too, but keep this in mind
That was a troll, ignore him.
EA's next few games all look like potential flops too. I cannot wait for the day the company goes into bankruptcy. I feel no remorse for anyone in that company (except for the Janitors and Building Maintenance.) . The developers have been out of touch and complicit with all of these half-assed games and shitshows each Studio has forced out. They have as much blood on their hands as the man at the top of the shit pole.
It's quite telling that Battlefield V sells 7.3 million copies yet it's still considered a disappointed. The ludicrous expectations of these shareholders and investors is a big part why the AAA games industry is in such a state.
Also fuck EA for killing Origin Systems and burying the Wing Commander franchise, and fuck EA for digging back up the Origin trademark for use on their digital game store service.
Chris Roberts got a tiny bit of revenge on EA, though. In the Star Citizen lore, Original Systems is a major digital software producer and they acquired, absorbed, and cannibalized Electronic Access into being just the name of their fictional software distribution platform. The point is driven home with the older and newer loading screens for Arena Commander/Star Marine (which are games within the game):
Let's not turn the thread into arguing about Star Citizen, please, I was just showing off the spoof EA logos and EA killed Wing Commander.
Fuck EA. I still refuse to sign up for an Origin account, and it kind of sucks because there've been a few games I've had some interest in that were/are Origin exclusives, but too bad because fuck EA.
Its tech companies across the board, we're nearing the cliff edge of another Recession and big tech are considered massive risks; hell even Amazon and Apple are being hit.
Your appointment with FEMA should be finalized within the week I've already discussed the matter with the senator.
You really can't look anymore corporate then Andrew does.
So do you think he has his own private game reserve where he hunts folks, or does he just reenact Manhunt for fun in Detroit?
