Considering the only other Sony franchise with a dad character has said character dead now it appears. Yeah sure. Nevermind the Ninja Game, the sandbox game, et all.
That's because pretty much every porn parody of Tomb Raider has gone by that name.
can't say i watch many of those, mate
I think graphics have gotten to the point where there is diminishing returns on improving on them. I can't see any other reason to throw more money at a production if not graphics
Nintendo also gave Rareware the shaft when they casually forgot to renew their contract, to the surprise of Rare. If your wondering why Microsoft bought Rare and butchered them? That's on Nintendo.
No its not. Nintendo owned 49% of rare and never bought more despite it being offered. They clearly chose to not buy rare outright. It's not like they were making good stuff at that point anyways.
I think this has less to do with graphics and more to do with giving their Developers broader chances to experiment. Like I said in the previous page, games like Dreams wouldn't be coming out had not it been a First Party game.
Banjo Kazooie 3, which would become Nuts n Bolts after some suit said that platform games won't sell and that the focus needs to be on construction.
WOW, Red Dead Redemption 2 did so well! What's that? It took over 3000 employees, 8 years of development and an undescribed ballpark amount that probably amounts to around $400 million if it took $250 million for GTAV with a little over 1000 employees? That sounds doable, let's have more of that. Very sustainable and with no potential for failure, at all! I'll take 6.
