'Call Of Duty' 2019 Single-Player Campaign Confirmed

The only reason Black Ops 4 didn't even have a campaign was because of Activision's meddling to begin with. All the sources dried up hard months after the fact, but leaks alleged that Treyarch had a whole "post-fall of society, people who can use cybernetics and technology are practically seen as technowizards" kind of thing with crazy stuff and mental time travel or some shit, all intended for BO3. Activision said "no" and forced them to rewrite the plot into what it became, but Treyarch held onto the idea to reuse it for BO4, and then Activision again said "no, our audience wouldn't get it". Except the second time around, BO4 was a lot further in development, so Activision tossed them the ultimatum of rewrite and redo the campaign in less than half a year, or launch with no campaign.
Activision would totally run more CoD games without campaigns if they could, but BO4 was an exception to the circumstances rather than a standard-setter presumably.
BO4 actually was going to have a mindfuck of a campaign but it was actually cut in the last year of development. No idea why, and no idea what it would have been, although a former QA tester did suggest that it would be a 2 vs 2 co-op counter-op experience, granted none of us know if he was talking out of his ass or not
Tell that to the people that would get outraged.
There's no arguing with the dumb fucks that would stir up a controversy about this, they'll do it regardless of any compromise the dev makes.
I know, and it annoys me. It's like the leaks were everywhere when the "no campaign" thing happened, and then suddenly they disappeared and got quelled by everyone just complaining about the game trading off battle royale for no campaign.
They'd forget about it in two weeks.
The technomages part makes sense, I think the former QA tester (who showed authenticity by highlighting a set of minor BO4 Zombies easter eggs that nobody found until then) said that it would (somehow) involve timetravel and woulden't be a campaign in the normal sense but a campaign with 2 vs 2 multiplayer.
Odd combo, I'd rather have 4 person co-op like in BO3 and I'm not totally sure if the guy actually is a former QA tester like he says he was or if he's a very elaborate troll. Yeah, I know what I said and that he showed some authenticity but that's not proving anything, for all we know a few people did find these but didn't make youtube clickbaits with them yet
Just Black Ops 4 doesn't have it
It's got Blackout (BR) instead
I don't play Blackout, I honestly cant stand BR games but there's a large part of me that would rather have a mode people play outside a month after release that continues to get map and gameplay updates than one that would be forgotten and discarded.
There's microtransactions now?
only BO4
I can't really fault them for doing it because its just 6 hours and everyone cares mostly about the multiplayer, but surprise surprise, the same game that has no SP mode also has people bitching about how the game has no content.
The latest one has a battle royale mode instead
