Not the same at all. The equivalent would literally be someone like Tokido saying "I'm Asian and straight" after winning a tournament. Or just ever day in Twitter. I don't even have an equivalent for the Furry part. There is a big difference between the existence and prevalence of hetero relationships and outright proclaiming your orientation at any given opportunity.

Any man who talked about how much they love women and vaginas the way he does would honestly be annoying as fuck don't pretend otherwise.

Straight people don't need to state they are straight because it is assumed as the normal status quo to society. A guy doesn't need to state "i fuck women" every time because its already assumed that he does unless stated otherwise. By having someone constantly challenging that by coming out as a LGBTQ+ peep, he is essentially challenging that status quo. This of course gets people riled up because how dare someone express something outside of the status quo.

He's not challenging anything, being gay isn't this weird fringe thing any more outside of certain conservative circles. People like him promote this idea that gay men are all flamboyant weirdos which is problematic in its own right. If he'd just mentioned he was gay, or brought up his boyfriend once nobody would give a shit, it's the fact that he makes it a massive defining aspect of his personality that he brings up even when it isn't relevant.

If someone's gay then more power to them and I wish them the best of luck, but if that same person is saying they're gay practically every time they breathe, then yeah it's gonna get annoying.

Really I'm just laughing at all the hets getting mad at a gay person expressing themselves. The moment someone in society steps out of the straight norm people get SO angry even though people constantly express straight relationships or "OH MY GOD I LOVE WOMEN AND FUCKING WOMEN SO MUCH" all the time. But the moment a gay man does that everyone is up in arms saying "SHUT UP WE DON'T CARE" Just a low key way of trying to make "the gays" go away.

I clearly go outside more than you do if you think it's normal to talk about your sex life at a formal event. Doing it with your buddies is one thing, doing it in public is another.

To add to this point, if I ever came across the heterosexual equivalent to SonicFox I would immediately question their heterosexuality.

To think, I was happy that this guy actually won the "Best eSports Player" award at the VGAs... I mean, dude still deserved it because he can wreck ass at just about any fighting game, but he's really been an annoying asshole since. I supported his awkward speech at the VGAs (minus the "lol Republicans" part because that's just low brow at this point), and I was fine with him screaming about it over Twitter after the fact. At this point though, yeah, we get it dude. You're gay. That's great and I'm happy for you and how comfortable you are with being gay, but you don't need to tell me every day. I'm bi, but I don't see the need to state it to everyone I meet and care about on a constant basis. They don't need to know or be reminded constantly. All he's really doing at this point is conforming to the "annoying weirdo" stereotype that gays and furries have had for YEARS. The ones that people laugh/ridicule/cringe at, bigots or no. It's sad at this point.

He got fucking ruined in Dbfz. See everyone likes to say Sonicfox is great at fighting games when he's legit fucking awful. He only does well in the early meta when nothing is really established so no one has any sort of concrete stuff to work with. The minute there is an established meta he tanks hard and gets fucking wiped out. Example: FighterZ, EVO was during the early meta and the most recent tourney was when the meta was established. Guess what? His first fight he got destroyed be his opponent and was put in the losers bracket, won 1 fight then lost his next and was kicked out of the tournament. SonicFox also can't play any high skilled fighting game. he's tried UNIST (got wiped out of that and never bothered to play again), BlazBlue (again got bodied), Guilty Gear (bodied again) and Street fighter which he got his ass kicked in. He only accels at low tier fighting games and only in the early meta
