"The norm", like everything else in life, is subjective.
Yeah honestly it's pretty cute and he otherwise seems like a nice guy This isn't the kind of dude to get angry about
I'm just upset that Sonicfox being an annoying asshole may end up causing some people to feel ashamed to be gay. To be ashamed to identify as a furry. He's honestly being the type of furry that I'd laugh at back when I was a teen on 4chan who assumed that all furries were like him. Just obnoxious sexually starved assholes who seemingly wanted to yiff anything that moved. I'm glad I got past that and was able to see that furries are generally just like everyone else outside of the fursuit bit. Most furries I've known and come across are chill as fuck, not constantly pressuring you about how much of a furry they are, and I'm glad they're able to be so open and comfortable. If for some reason you do feel embarrassed or ashamed by Sonicfox's behavior, please know that I'm certain you aren't like him and that if anything, you're more than likely pretty goddamn awesome.
Sonicfox's ego died for their sins
thats cool n all that you're gay and you like sucking mad dick and your proud(which is good nobody was disputing this!) but let's not get 1cm in front of someone's face and belittle everyone else because they don't sleep with the same kind of people as you it's also a shame because i half expected facepunch in 2019 to be actual calm and collective but yet we just sucked at this and took juicy bites out of each other? where's the love here yo i don't see any homophobia or promoting of hetrosexuality(where the fuck did people get this from? LOL) in this thread, nobody was attacking gays or straights(ironically there are a few people who shall not be named and if you name them then shame on you!) or whatever sexuality you fit yourself in, i just see a side that's too closed minded and have are a tad envious of a culture that's been a normal for centuries there isn't anything wrong with minorities and as the kind of person i am, i well and truly fit into that minority but yikes we're still human guys we don't need to fucking fight each other and attack each other's egos this thread needs to calm the hell down and have a quick reality check, i see some zingers(which ive been giggling away at), i see some call outs on the obnoxious sonicfox (which is rightfully deserved) but i also see people who feel hyper defensive and feel attacked when that isn't the case, attacking first, jesus guys
It was Ben and Bill wasn't it?
yo're rarted
Bill and Ben The Flowerpot Men did not age well at all.
Did you seriously just use a TEDx talk? Really? That's your source?
I just wanted someone that had a better explanation than what i can do. there's more than one source on how it works. Google Scholar
You literally just proved my point and agreed with me. Sure he could get better at those games but guess what? He dropped all of them because he lost. SonicFox is shit because again, he's only good when there's no established meta ie exactly what happened in FighterZ. Lol Skullgirls yeah okay. Fact is he is completely shit at the high skilled fighting games and when he loses at them he doesn't try to do better he just quits which is even more hilarious is when he tries to get into something easy like Soul caliber and still gets fucking destroyed. Hot take: SonicFox is shit and is only said to be the best by people not in the know or fucking furries
If you're referring to the USA. Yeah. It's a pretty small percentage. But there's no entitlements or any "privileges" and there shouldn't be any straight shaming either coming from that percentage. That's actually fucking shameful that it happened in THIS very thread.
Oh being homosexual is completely normal I was just stating that when it's a minority it's of course going to be a small thing. I've actually never heard of heteronormative until now and I'm honestly wondering which side coined that term
Or maybe hes focusing in competing in DBFZ at the moment? Very few of those players got good at a bunch of games all at once, they accrued years of experience in all of them over the course of a decade. At SF's current age Daigo was only really competing in VSav and a bit in SF. EVO moment 37 didnt happen until he was 21. Kazunoko didn't play anything other than GG under the alias Inoue starting in 2008 and only branched out into other titles around 2010-11 or so when he was about 23. Dogura got into SF around the same time Kaz did but didn't make a big name for himself until EVO 2014. I could go on and on. My point is, is that SonicFox has already accrued a great deal of accolades and results at such a young age already. He's won 4 EVO titles by the age of 20. He's been a consistently threatening force in DBFZ which has one of the largest playerbases out of any game in the modern era, and one of the strongest fields of competition as well. His level of domination in NRS titles and Skullgirls is almost unheard of in the genre. While it's too early to say what his legacy in the FGC will be, even if he retired today he'd still have a very solid and decorated career.
I'm going to point out that DBFZ is a shit fighting game and so is Skullgirls and any NRS fighter. They're fun but not good.
You can have your opinions, but results across a field of equal opportune competition dont really care about how good or bad a fighting game is. The ArcSys Hokuto no Ken game is referred to as literally "shit game" in Japanese but there's still figures in that game that are notoriously dominant and nobody is going to take away their achievements from them. You're all playing the same game with the same rules, as long as you beat everyone in what you're playing you're simply the best at it.
But he's not the best. For the most recent example check out his amazing performance at last months DBFZ tournament
No. These things are not unique to Fox and they aren't even unique to the current field, and your comments about DBF aren't even in the realm of smell versus reality much less sight or facts. FZ's population imploded after month two and it's never gone back up, even with updates. He's a great generalist with above average twitch skills and that''s about as far as you can take it. He is butt awful at reads and set up countering and games that requires per-character strats to be adjusted per match ala SC and Tekken are his absolute bane. Every game where he dominates relies heavily on 50%s, and his perennial picks in those venues are characters with roughly equal damage off a correct guess. As for his level of domination, they aren't even in the same league as most tekken top 8 regulars, and NRS by their own admission don't exactly hit the gold standard of balanced playfields, and more to the point, MK and I rely very little on -command-per-string execution and way more on button sequencing and surprise surprise Fox is great at one and not even kind of great at the other, and amongst peers in those said games execution drops are literally counted on one hand even in evo showings, meanwhile at the first SC nationals Fox is dropping four hit geralt combos against air control on the regular. He has great reflexes and is a superb generalist, he is not the next uber god of anything that doesn't have the WB shield on it, and if 11 pans out with legal variations like it appears it's going to, he's going to have a hard time keeping his old pace now that 11 million hit mash combos are dialed way back in damage and custom strings are the new hotness and defensive wake up no longer relies on 50/50 to be a threat.
While Sonicfox is very good at fighting games he only really excels at games that heavily incentivizes 50/50 rushdown pressure, if a game has actual options aside from that he tends to get shut down pretty quickly, the NRS games and DBFZs meta completely revolve around 50/50 rushdown pressure and most other playstyles aren't as viable. He is very good at picking up games quickly, which is why he excels at games when they tend to be new and the meta is still being developed, but he seems to have a lack of dedication when it comes to training at games. Whenever he started losing at games regularly he would just drop them and move on to something else. I think him dabbling in Tekken is a great example of this, he hinted on his Twitter that he was interested in competing in it, streamed a few games of it and then just kinda stopped playing it and never mentioned it again. In one of his streams he even gets shut down by a Jack-7 spamming his crouching jab and he starts laughing and asks if it's a safe low since he can't figure out how to counter it even though he can just use basic universal mechanics like the sidestep or low parry to shut it down and get a free combo, he didn't even bother learning the games basic fundamentals before he started playing it proper. Tekken is a game where you cannot rely on 50/50 rushdown and you need to have a solid grasp on defense and movement in order to shut down opponents mistakes. According to his teammates who was helping him practice for the DBFZ World Tour finals where he lost to Dogura he was more interested in playing Dead by Daylight than actually practice which, coupled with the fact that he tends to drop games once he starts losing at them, makes him come of as someone who wants easy wins for fame and attention rather than someone who plays fighters for the love of the game. That, and the announcer during the fight against Dogura in the DBFZ World Tour Finals was disgusting, despite Dogura winning the announcers just kept talking about how great and amazing Sonicfox was and once Dogura won the announcer went "let's give an applause for Sonicfox, he is amazing" without really giving Dogura any credit for beating one of the supposed best DBFZ players in the world. Sonicfox is not a fighting game god that masters every game he glances at and deserves praise for that, he is good, yes, but I am convinced the praise and attention he gets is mostly for the fact that he is a gay furry.
Not everyone wins every tournament they go to. Kazunoko is pretty universally the best DBFZ player atm but the game is still young and SF is still at the top of the pantheon of players in that title. I mean, it wasn't even a year ago that he won EVO in the game. I also hate to say it, but its a game that gets patched regularly so it's hard to consistently judge the competition when the meta shifts around so much. Even DBFZ aside, though, he is far and away the best NRS/Skullgirls player and those games definitely have adequate competition, regardless of what you think of them. Subjectively I can get the hate for NRS Games since they're not my cup of tea either but idk whats wrong with Skullgirls??
I just think he has a shitty obnoxious personality that is propped up by a criticism proof shield of "you must be homophobic if you don't like him", and people who only like him "because he makes people mad". I dunno maybe he makes people mad because he's an obnoxious, shallow person who makes a lot of noise and flaunts the fact that people will blindly defend him.
There are plenty of players in any game that excel that mixing up their opponent and rushdown. That's why there are entire character archetypes associated with that playstyle. Considering he's a really strong SG player I wouldn't be surprised if he would have been good at MvC2 back in the day due to their similarities. I disagree that he isn't dedicated to training, as he's the one that often develops a lot of his own setups. He's often one of the figures that helps drive that developing meta in the first place. I haven't had too much experience with the other claims you make regarding his supposed lazy attitude towards other games so I'll reserve judgment for now. makes him come of as someone who wants easy wins for fame and attention rather than someone who plays fighters for the love of the game. This is just kinda insulting and seems like ignorance on the behalf of how much dedication it actually takes to get good at a fighting game. You don't dominate a scene for 4 years without caring really deeply about it. I guarantee if you looked at how many hours he had in SG it would be in the thousands. I am convinced the praise and attention he gets is mostly for the fact that he is a gay furry. Not really since this narrative didn't really exist until after he won EVO/Won the award at TGAs. He got most of his hype built up from his years of dominating NRS titles and Skullgirls including his famous 13-0 sweep of Perfect Legend. By the time DBFZ came out he was a top contender and favorite for any tournament he entered and got a lot of fans along the way. Even /r/Kappa was rooting for him at certain points along the line from the start of DBFZs release up until EVO and they're the last group of people to dickride someone for their orientation lol.
Really good way to gauge someone: if they tell you they're gay and you say "Cool" or, if they do it enough and you say "I don't really care", and they react negatively about that response, its a good idea to step the fuck away, because they're crazy.
local internet forum users insist they're not mad abt gay people as they keep saying how much they hate gay ppl
We don't hate gay people. We hate obnoxious annoying people.
When was the last time a US government official said he wanted to murder gay people? Answer: yesterday. The prevalence and legal status of LGBT discrimination in the US are still serious problems, in most states child abusive "conversion therapy" is legal, in only a handful of states are LGBT individuals protected from workplace discrimination, and the amount of hoops trans people still have to jump through to get their basic identity recognized is being actively increased by the current administration.
self deprecation is a very bad habit
I think you have some reading issues. Many people here don't like Sonicfox. Sonicfox =/= gay people Please understand the difference between a person and a group.
idk dude all im seeing is ppl going over and over again for lack of a better word "dude needs to stop being a faggot" in different forms which is p homophobic lmfao but idk man you do you its a free country n all that (i think idk about third world shit like norway)
