• THQNordic hosts AMA...on 8ch?

Looks like you don't read my reply from before: Anyone can be a subboard moderator, in the same way that anyone can make a new sub on Reddit. Neither Reddit nor 8chan asks you if you have a criminal record. But they don't moderate the entire site, they are simple users, they don't represent the place. About the CP, if you post something like that on any chan, the moderators gonna report to the authorities, they aren't some criminal heaven place on the deep web. There are criminals on both 8chan and Reddit doing nasty shit, but they dont represent the entire website.
Not only are those board mods you’re citing 4-5 years old and defunct but none of them are admins or Hotwheels, who owns the site.
"This website has and still dose crazy stuff" "W- Well Reddit dose it too!!!"
I think its less about whether or not a site like 8chan or reddit is full blown white nationalist and more about whether the major boards are or arent. /pol/ and /cow/ are some of the most popular boards on the site and have been for a long time. Yeah r/Jailbait was a big draw for Reddit back in the day but that kind of content doesnt seem to be the main draw of the site anymore (or at the very least, its not frequently promoted on the front page). Its a lot easier to say that doing an AMA on 8chan could bring people in contact with some very deranged and bad people than on Reddit.
So you are ignoring my reply or what? I wanted proof that the site is administrated by criminals, a random user don't represent the site, anyone can be a sub moderator. I am no using Reddit as a excuse, please re-read my last replies.
That’s not even what he said he compared its operation to reddit to help understand because lots of people including fpers use reddit. Anyone on reddit can make one of these, it’s the same here.
The board owners of /baph/ and /hebe/ do not run the site. That's the same as saying Reddit is run by criminals because they hosted r/incels and r/the_donald. Giving users of any website absolute freedom to create their own boards/subreddits/whatever, and not expecting malicious groups to crop up and pull that kind of shit is a fantasy pipe dream. Even Discord, Facebook and Twitter has this problem. It's just what you have to accept when you make a platform that large and open.
I’m just gonna leave this tweet here. https://twitter.com/mombot/status/1102126542644117504
What mental gymnastics do these idiots have to jump through to justify to themselves just how truly terrible they are to other people? Yeah all these dudes did was host an AMA on an imageboard so its time to systematically destroy their lives. What? How could you possibly think you're the good guy here?
a lot of resetera feels like it's been so thoroughly brainwashed into a hatemob that it's not even funny. if you consider stepping out of line ONCE in that place, you're automatically banned; this sort of shit coming from them doesn't sound too farfetched. as far as they're concerned, they're absolutely, 100% in the right, and anybody who disagrees with them is wrong. very black and white from them.
See the kicker is that despite these being the most popular boards, 8chan as a whole is way less popular then it was in the "glory days" (if you can call them that) where you had people flooding in because frozen peaches or something. No clue why Resetera keeps getting brought up. They suck, but they don't pat themselves on the back with the concept of letting people create their own boards (something which has consequences both positive and also negative!)
ResetEra is being brought up because they're the point of origin in attacking THQNordic over this
I bet my left nut there is a new version of GameJournoPros that has some members from ResetEra/Gaf, which is why whenever Reset/Gaf flip out over something new it seems to get so much coverage. That being said, THQ did nothing wrong.
I'm fairly certain after GJP was exposed and shutdown another, more private one was set up almost immediately.
Really? The only place? In all of print and the world wide web, The Daily Stormer alone was the sole place that would publish it? A shame he didn't have a website or something where he could have hosted it himself.
I mean, I simply posted what the Wikipedia article says, maybe he deliberately choose that place because he was a secret nazi all along, or maybe he did it because he wanted to show his message to as many people as possible, even if he needed to do it on that website. I don't know the circumstances and only he know why he did it. About his message, when you know how that gut lives and how sick he is, then you understand where his weird ideas come from, even if they are very polemical. Whatever is the case, he is not a criminal for what I know and THAT was I was asking originally if you read the rest of the thread.
I don't actually have a problem with his ideas, I just don't buy the idea that anyone would ever have no choice but to settle for Stormfront.
The effect this AMA probably actually had in terms of 'red-pilling' is probably negligible (or non-existent), but the ratio of nazis to normies on 8chan is significantly higher than on Reddit which I think does warrant at least some eyebrow raising regardless of the amount of people on the site. I dont have a link for this, but Ive seen a thread on 8chan where Hotwheels suggested things he could do to annoy SJWs, including writing a pro-eugenics article for the Daily Stormer, and everyone was like 'yeah do that', so I dont know how true that article even is.
Im not sure if in the end of the day this ama brought much good publicity to THQnordic.
Any publicity is good publicity. We have been talking about this for days while most AMAs are either completely ignored or forgotten about a couple of days later.
I haven't read the article, but if that's what he was writing about, and if he chose better wording than straight-up "eugenics" then more people would have probably been willing to publish it
I think the only thing baffling about this whole situation are the articles that have come out days after the fact on game journo sites about how "the industry should be held accountable for actions like this" and "people just moving on from this is disgusting." Yeah. All these scummy business practices, work conditions, and many other scrutinized factors of the industry are fine and we should just move on, but just a single AMA on an iffy website? Oh, now the industry is in deep shit and needs to be "held accountable." Comes off as kinda suspicious.
Somewhere a marketing department is watching and taking notes
It would be a lot less infuriating if THQ's parent company wasn't just coming off the debacle with the Epic Games Launcher and Metro Exodus.
I think its entirely possible to not approve of either THQN going on 8chan but also to not approve of all the scummy practices and poor work conditions that are unfortunately common in the AAA game industry. these concepts aren't mutually exclusive
What you cover more shows where your priorities lie
I honestly don't understand why going to 8chan was so terrible when developers post regularly on ResetERA and that place is constantly attacking/doxxing people like the director of Catherine, GOG/CD Projekt workers and now THQ employees. Then you have lots of articles about "Why THQ needs to commits seppuku for their crimes" but nothing about the harassment campaign against Katsura Hashino.
I don't actually care for reset era either?
invite him to facepunch.
Soo... what do you care exactly? I don't use 8chan personally but people made a big scandal over nothing with this AMA and attacking THQ and 8chan without a real reason. I brought out ResetERA because they are the people that are making this dumb scandal.
