With this logic, would having a completely "diverse" Oscar voterbase do anything? If everyone's going to be voting for their own gender/race/age, then we'll just end up with Oscars that represent the demographics but don't actually represent the talent.

Matching Jackie Chan incredible talent at fighting and his great choreography is quite rare in today's cinema. I have not seen many movie with action scene as good as the vast majority of the Jackie Chan movie,
such as the Lucky star, Police story or Mister Dynamite and let's not forget the wheels on meals which has some of the most impressive, and above all, IMMERSIVE, action scene. Jackie chan made the fight so
believable, so human, and his way of filming is wonderful and amazing for the eyes: The camera don't shake at all most of the time to hide how the actors are poor fighters.
It pains me he is getting replaced for this, but he is getting old and I can understand why he wouldn't be considered and picked. Chris tucker is also a funny actors who didn't get the acting careers he deserved, sadly.
Replacing it with female don't bothers me, maybe one day, after so many female cast reboot, we'll get an actual good one.

I think they're typically sycophants who want the approval of others, and so would utilize any movement or cause they view as "in" to curry favor, yes.

What i dont get is the weird thing where these movies are pretending like there hasnt been female-led blockbuster films/action films for decades and that they're proving something or breaking some kind of mold. That seems counter productive.
If I was going to make a new Rush Hour, and wanted to be more inclusive, I would play off the time that has elapsed. Maybe Jackie's daughter is an adult and has to team up with carter to save jackie, or something. maybe its like a next generation passing the torch type deal. That would be okay with me. Otherwise it would need to be a new story that stands on its own, but IDK.

Yup, Mandarin will be the only Chinese dialect spoken in the movie since China wants to eradicate all other dialects and they will show the seedier side of the US but China will be portrayed as a peaceful and just society.
