I wonder if we'll ever have anything like this again:

Every now and again you get a genuinely good show. Sony was superb from 2015-2017, Microsoft had a damn good 2018, and on occasion we get something really good from Nintendo or Ubisoft.
Can't remember a really good EA show though
I don't expect Bethesda to back out, we still have TES6, Wolfenstein Youngblood, Doom Eternal, and Starfield to show off
But the cringe is the best part of E3.
nooooooooooooo, not my main source of entertainment at E3
Devolver is cringe as fuck. Not even funny imo.
EA put all their eggs in their Anthem basket and it absolutely blew up in their face
E3 is a trade show, its whole existence has been for developers/publishers to show their upcoming products.
IMO, they will just get worser and worser with their tactics.
Legit, probably cancelled because of Apex being shoved out the door early cover anthem being a disaster. They have nothing else on the docket to really announce other than tides of war shit for battlefield 5 (which is still in basically beta state with a good chunk of the promised features missing)
They still have their yearly sports releases, the next Titanfall (whatever it is), Respawn's Star Wars game, and probably a few indie titles.
Part of this might be similar to Sony's dwindling list of upcoming releases: we're nearing the end of this console generation.
It's one of my favorite events of the year. Not so much just because I love E3, but because it's fun to watch my favorite streamers snark over it. Never going to be the same without TotalBiscuit around since he was the snarkiest person in the business, but Genna (TB's wife) does a great job of it, as well as Vinny and Joel from Vinesauce.
It's nice to see upcoming games announced but it's way more fun to make fun of the whole thing.
I always enjoy it (and similar events) for Easy Allies reactions. Those guys, Huber especially, are concentrated hype and it's infectious as hell.
I doubt Starfield, let alone TES6 will be at E3. Supposedly both games won't be out until the next console generation and BGS likes to show off gameplay for their next big title the same year it releases.
Didnt they and most other companies do their show/press conference before E3 officially started last year?
Kinda saw this coming honestly
This fucking sucks. I've always loved the feel of E3 conferences.
It was fun week of seeing new games presented infront of a live audience and a huge chatroom while eating something good.
Gringey shit was fun to see and it was awesome when the audience exploded when a hyped game appeared. Remember Ubi's "one last thing" new IP surprises? Even though they ended up being meh, it was so much fun to see those things live.
I've never watched a single Nintendo direct because why would I? I just check the trailers later on from some internet list. It's just boring.
Give me more Konami E3 2010.
AAA game companies, just as many before them, thought that they were too big to fail.
Their endless greed is their own undoing, hopefully it'll make space for better companies/games in the future.
Also, too bad there won't be any EA cringe this year. But hey, provided they get through this mess; there's always next year!
Don't forget Mass Effect Andromeda!
They're all just mindlessly bouncing against the same glass-ceiling and breaking their necks in the hopes of being the one that breaks through. It's pretty retarded that they can't observe and correct the issues in their behaviour/goals/philosophies and are just stubbornly reaching for "ALL THE MONEYS!" at any cost, even disregarding self-preservation from year to year.
People talking about a "gaming industry crash" haven't got a single clue. but it's undeniable that if these companies keep going, they'll eventually fail and leave room for others to over-take them.
E3 will be better without EA, to be perfectly honest
Why does everyone say that Microsoft's 2018 E3 was good for them, it was not. That entire conference was me just going "wow I can't wait to play all these multiplats on my PS4 or PC
I think console wars are a thing of the past
The worst part about all of this is that this mentality is spreading and I hope it won't become the norm for business.
It already has been the norm for businesses for decades now.
I mean, at the risk of sounding condescending, Microsoft still owns Windows. Whether you buy their games on Xbox or PC, Microsoft is still getting money. On top of that, they showed Halo Infinite, Ori & The Will of the Wisps, Forza Horizon 5, three different Gears of War games (one of which was the mainline franchise), announced a TON of high-profile studio acquisitions (something Microsoft has needed to do for a while), and on top of that they had world premieres of multiple multiplat titles including Devil May Cry 5 and fucking CYBERPUNK 2077.
It was easily their best show in years, and it kicked the everliving shit out of Sony's show last year which was a huge surprise since Sony has been on top basically this entire console generation.
